I recommend staying away from anything proactive, it seriously screws up your skin. It'll get rid of it but the one night you skip a wash, it comes back full force. It's honestly just a horrible brand, I don't know of any good black head washes but I'm sure someone else will know of some :)

I've never tried this but I personally love the origins clear improvement charcoal mask to get rid of black heads, also I've heard great things about the Paula's choice chemical exfoliant.
As for proactive I've had a bad experience as well, the only thing I liked from proactive was their green tea moisturizer
