How does one PERM?

I got a "beach wave" perm so they used big rods and small rods. My hair looks amazinggg and I've had it for almost a year now and it still looks great. I don't do much to it and I only wash it 2-3 times a week sometimes less because my hair is pretty dry. Also I only use heat on it like once a month and my hair is pretty healthy. You should definitely go to a salon and talk to a stylist about it
