I think it was a fun summer thing.

I reside in Northeast FL and trends take forever to die here so of course its all the rage here so I'm pretty tired of seeing it.

My best friend did it and it is too much upkeep for what it's worth. Plus after you're sick of it, you have to spend extra time dying the ends of your hair back to your natural or next hair color.

Ombré has zero upkeep. I still love my ombré hair and receive many compliments. I really wouldn't care if its not "in" anymore because I think it looks good on me.

I'm over seeing it and people getting excited about it, but I really do think it looks good on almost everyone as quick and easy way for people to get "trendy" hair without making a big commitment. I used to like the really high-contrasted ombré but now I think the subtle ombré looks cooler and almost more original. I went home for Christmas last week and my sister (who used to have super long beautiful locks) chopped her light blonde hair into a shoulder length warm brown/caramel, subtle ombré look and it was really beautiful! It was actually much more original and unique looking than the long dark hair with super bleached ombré ends. I do appreciate when people do a less literal take on it, but I'm definitely over the super typical "trendy" look.

Shelley, that's too funny! My best friend and old room mate just moved to Northeast Florida and immediately got the ombré look! I was sporting it about 2 1/2 years ago (we lived together then too) and she was NOT a fan! Then moved to St. Augustine a couple months ago and saw it was just becoming trendy out there and immediately "had to do it"

personally, I'm over it, but it is a lasting style. I still get excited when I see it on people if its done well. Im just not a fan of the hype.
its hair. not Jesus.
If done right, it looks awesome on pretty much everyone.

it doesn't have much upkeep, I think the only thing thats annoying about it is trying to get the seamless.gradient you want with minimal damage.
for example my sister did it and she has black hair (she's dyed it for many years.). when she did it kind of looked red, and she had to bleach the ends. it doesn't look BAD, but its no khloe Kardashian look by anymeans so she's dying it back.
