You should clean your brushes every week or every other week! I just use baby shampoo to clean them. Gets them clean but still keeps them soft (:

I use a bar of soap that you would use on your body it works well and the brushes smell really clean.

I have several methods:
quick daily makeup brush cleaning [doesn't deep clean brush, but great for daily use]: khols makeup brush daily cleanser
deep cleaning [once a week]: bar of soap or baby shampoo works best (: DONT use regular shampoo that you would use on your hair though because it's not as gentle and can ruin your brushes

You can use soap (just the cheap ones without smell) or Virgin olive oil :) also, you can use your hand or special glove x run the brush under the water until the water is clean
