I really need a new shampoo. Right now I'm using biosilk and I hate it. It doesn't actually hydrate my hair long term but it just leaves it stringy. I think it just is too hard to wash out or something. In the past I've tried some from bedhead and matrix that I liked a lot but I just want something a little more hydrating. So basically I want something that will keep my hair soft and really healthy but not leave residue. My hair is thick and naturally wavy. I don't use heat every day but I use it probably about 4 days of the week. What do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Try to get a shampoo that is sulfate free, the sulfates in the shampoo weakens your hair and makes it more prone to breakage.

Well coming from someone who has tried every shampoo you can get at drugstores, I would have to say my favorites would be Nexxus or L'Oreal Sulfate Free Shampoo. But right now I'm using Wen. I used to have a love/hate relationship with it (I've used it off and on since it came out) but I have been using it consistently since this last August. I know some hate it and I do think it works best for thicker hair types. Also the trick is using a lot of it (which is weird because its such a thick cleanser, you would think you need less product) if not then it really does weigh your hair down and makes it look greasy, so make sure you rinse super good! I mentioned my love/hate with Wen, but the hate of it came from me not using the product right, but if you use like the directions say, it really has made my hair look healthier (especially when it hasn't been styled, it actually doesn't look too bad, because it defines my curls better). It is a little more expensive but one bottle usually last me about 3 months and I use a tonnnn of it.

Read some great reviews about this and I'm getting it for my self :)

I really like the herbal essences cleansing conditioner, it's amazing, cheap but well formulated, and you don't have to use as much product as you do for the wen cleanser. For a more traditional shampoo I like the shampoos from lush. The nexxus line that Lisa mentioned is also good IMO :)
