I have too patches of dry red scaly skin at the sides of my mouth, it feels chapped but isn't really improving with moisturising, anyone any ideas? It looks really awful and starting to annoy me now x

Looks like wind burn. Is it windy there? Don't lick you lips.

That looks like what happens to my kids lips when they kick them too much.. But for my son and daughter it happens to their top lips... Have you tried Aquaphor lip repair? That works wonders for chapped lipsā˜ŗļø

Could it be a cold sore? I've personally never had one, but my husband used to get them a lot when he was a kid, and it looks kind of like the beginning stages of his... Maybe?

Oh I guess haha I'm not very smart when it comes to this stuff lol I used to get cracks where my lips join together from eating freezies! Haha that's about the extent of my lip issues haha hope your cream works though! I imagine it hurts. My husband has wind burned lips at the moment and I feel sooo bad for him haha.

Could be dry skin from the cold. My skin gets dry patches in the winter.

I'd recommend aquaphore just let it get good moisture other than saliva lol good luck. Don't use makeup there either.

Emma have you changed your toothpaste or using a whitening toothpaste? It could be that or whatever toothpaste you are using or it could be dry skin and OR you could be drooling as you sleep and it can be that as well and one more.. MAYBE it CAN be eczema that can be caused from certain beauty products or soaps as well.. Oh yeah and are you using mouthwash? Idk I'm trying to think of all the reasons... I had something similar a while back, talking years back and it cleared on its own but mine was more off the lip not as close but back then I didn't have beautyish to see if anyone could help to see what's wrong šŸ˜”lol.

Hi Emma, this may sound odd but do you happen to have anxiety? If you do this might be something caused by you scratching at your mouth unknowingly (like in your sleep.) It is easily treatable, but you have to be prescribed ointments. If it gets worse or simply won't go away, I'd try seeing a doctor. That's my best guess because it looks very similar to what I had. Sorry if this doesn't help! Hope it goes away soon.

Hey thanks for all your advice! It seems to have cleared up just a lil but left, doctor said it could've been a type of oral thrush causing it but not on my mouth etc, makes sense as I have 3 kids one a lil baby and it's Hugely common and contagious with babys :)
