Hello everyone!
So I watched a video on youtube where a girl gives beauty tips and she said that you can see when your products end so I watched mine and how are you supposed to use ALL that makeup in such a short time (lipsticks and palette) I have my 1 naked palette aged of 1/30 year and 2 years lipsticks and it stills work as great as when I bought them so what's the matter with expiration date should I throw them or keep them? I don't get it as they still work great

My general rule of thumb is that if a product looks different, smells different, feels different or performs differently than it did when you first got it, toss is out. Otherwise, it is generally fine. The only thing I'd make sure to switch out often is mascara (even though I'm so bad at that)

I was reading this article about it and apparently you have to through mascara away after 3 months and lip gloss after 6 months... Will look more into it if you would like me to?!?! Xx

I've been collecting (read: hoarding lol) makeup since like grade 10 and I have some stuff that I still have to this day 5 years later. Powder eyeshadow and blushes last a LONG time so I wouldn't worry about those. Lipstick can last a few years but when it goes off you'll know, it gets an odd smell and becomes very sticky. Anything creamy that comes in a pot you have to stick your fingers in should be replaced yearly to prevent bacteria buildup (concealer and whatnot) and mascara every 6 months.

I have makeup that I've had and used since I was 11 and I'm nearly 17! Powder blushes last FOREVER. I agree with the other girls, unless it smells different or performs differently, it's generally fine. But I'd definitely replace mascaras

You can usually tell when something isn't any good anymore, and like the other girls said, powder blush and eyeshadow will last for years. Mascara and lipgloss need to be thrown out though since they're breeding grounds for bacteria (unless it's gloss that comes in a squeeze tube) as well as potted cream products. And if you have sensitive skin or super acne prone skin it can be a good idea to throw out your foundation after it expires.

It's fine. Only cream products can get bacterias. Plus, If you use the products on more person keeping them very clean and sanitised is important. Products containing bacteria or are bad smelling or somehow wired might cause you eye infections, break outs and also can cause skin problems. I think pressed eyeshadow slime the naked palettes are ok to keep for longer time. Just how the moderator said, If it feels or smell funny = buy new one! :)
