So I use gel a lot and I heard it's bad for the hair with all the chemicals in it. So I've seen a diy hair gel that's made from gelatin, water , and essential oil for scent.. If I use this than wash it out would it clog my shower drainage?

I don't recommend it. It just thins the hair and damages the hair. But that only if it's not good quality.

I've heard good things about it. And I don't want to use the chemical stuff.

I'd imagine that drying and flaking up like crazy, hair gel won't really cause any damage, I suggest just buying some from the store.

What if I add conditioner before I apply the gel?

Your hair would be greasy if you leave conditioner in it. I promise you, gel isn't as bad as you think, do a weekly hair mask with coconut oil if it bothers you that much.

I used to use gel alllll the time, for like 2 years lol. It really isn't that bad, my hair was fine whilst using it and I used a lot of it haha. :)

I hate gel lol. My little sister has always been using it in her hair for years bc she has super frizzy curly hair so whilst it's wet she scrunched it with the gel, hasn't damaged her hair. Everyone is different, though. I doubt it's clog the drainage tbh

So you think I should just stick to the store bought one? Or should I try out the diy one?

I would just buy one from the store.

Its all about personal preference. The girls are saying that its not that damaging.

You can maybe compromise and buy a gel that's more natural? I just bought the Sheamoisture gel soufflé, I haven't tried it yet but I've seen good reviews. I used their curl smoothie today and it looks soft and bouncy!
