So to my fellow beauties, I know that you've all heard that wearing makeup is bad for your skin. However, I beg to differ about that. I think that not removing your makeup properly is bad for your skin. What do you guys think?

I agree, I don't think wearing makeup is bad, but having a proper skincare routine including removing your makeup is. I also believe having a healthy diet and drinking lots of water has an impact on your skin (:

I think finding proper skin care and a foundation regimen that works with your skin type, not against it, is the only way to ensure healthy skin. I've experimented so much that I have finally found the right products for me.

You are so right. I'm 45 and I have the best skin I've had since puberty right now and I wear makeup every day. When I was in college I did no skin care at all and wore no makeup. My skin was awful. I think primers are really important because they can protect your skin from your makeup as much as the other way around. And of course getting all the makeup off at the end of the day.
Even so, I'm cautious in declaring makeup totally safe and good for everyone to wear. A lot of the hype around mineral makeup is that it is good for you skin and it's just that: hype. I've people who've had minerals turn up on a hair analysis (for toxins) just because they wore mineral makeup. The pigments that are in makeup aren't necessarily good for you, even if they are naturally sourced. And just because something isn't reacting with your skin doesn't mean it's totally benign either. There are frankly some products on my makeup table that scare me a bit. The Wet N Wild liquid lipsticks...smell like airplane glue when you open the tube. That can't be good for you.
