Well I wanted curls but I didn't have any bobby pins, curlers or many bobbles so I used this technique from YouTube.
If you can't tell my fringe is in two wave french plaits and the back is just normal plaits.
I left my hair I dry this way over night (8pm-7Am)
This morning I realised that these aren't curls they're crimps so I'm a little disappointed but I think it looks nice.

You should try parting your hair into four different sections and twisting your hair outwards and keeping it twisted while forming a bun out of it and then clip it or tie a rubber band over it. Make sure your hair is damp but not too damp, I suggest just spritzing some water over it. Take them out after at least 8 hours of it being in and you'll get curls!

I also find that if you have such small, tight braids hair does crimp easier. Try doing two french braids, it gives soft, loose waves. You could also try Shanae's suggestion but that can be a hit or miss depending on the hair.

Thanks everyone! I forgot to mention that I'm avoiding heat because my hair is damaged due to constantly dying it. Thanks for your tips everyone 👏

I'm avoiding heat as much as possible as well, that's why I learned heatless techniques. It always works for me, you have to do it correctly and it'll work.

You should've sprayed some mousse through it and scrunched it a bit, usually helps my heartless curls when they turn out the opposite of what I wanted. They don't look bad though
