Moving to NY! Plane Outfits?

In a few weeks I'm moving to New York! I'm taking a plane there so I have no idea what to wear. Usually I would wear leggings, a tank top, a hoodie, and my vans but it'll obviously be way too cold for that kind of outfit once I get to New York. My aunt (who I'm moving in with) said she'll bring me a warm winter coat when she picks me up from the airport but I don't know what else to wear to keep me warm. I was thinking bringing jeans or yoga pants to layer over my leggings and a long sleeve shirt and/or cardigan to layer under my hoodie but I don't know. I'm always cold anyways so I could definitely use some help. Thank you!

Double leg wear for sure and a hoodie and a jacket do heavy socks and a type of hat. You will stay warmer if you have your feet and head covered. That's where you lose most of your body heat.

I think wearing leggings and jeans on top would work I tried that once and it was great and maybe you can wear a singlet and a long sleeve t-shirt and if you want to top it off maybe if you have a cute scarf?

I'd wear leggings underneath jeans, a comfy/warm sweater, jacket and a scarf maybe even some gloves.
Very cool your moving to NY. I've always wanted to live there (:

I'd bring yoga pants. Sometimes it gets cold on the plane as well. Also, a cozy scarf. Definitely layers as it's freezing here! You're lucky to have missed the snow, but there might be another one coming up :)

Alexis, we just had about 15 inches of snow. Needless to say, it is cold here! Layers are my best friend. Leggings under pants, tank tops with a shirt over and a sweater, scarf hat and gloves and warm socks!!

Thank you, everyone! I'll definitely be wearing fuzzy socks, they're the only kind I own, and I'll be sure to wear a beanie as well! (:

If you have wool socks I would wear those instead of the fuzzy socks. I find that my feet still get really cold with fuzzy socks.

Thanks, Stephanie! Fuzzy socks keep my feet perfectly warm (:

I would wear my fuzzy aloe socks with grips at the bottom. Big ol sweatpants with some leggings underneath and a big ol hoodie. Tie my hair in a messy bun and a headband of course!

I live in New York :) you should probably go in like leggings under sweats or jeans and a hoodie with like layers under and a jacket if you have one. fuzzy socks and boots also. scarfs, beanies, gloves, everything! it's really cold we just had a blizzard so umm just think of that lol.

I am aware you just had a blizzard. I live in southern California so I don't really have proper snow clothes, just working with what I have (:

I'll be moving to Middletown, it's about an hour and a half from the city. I have gloves somewhere, I'll just have to find them!

Shanae, I visited New York quite a few years ago in the winter and we got snowed in for 3 days, it was horrible! Plus I don't handle cold well so this will definitely be an interesting move. I lived in Texas for a year! I hated it so I moved back to California.

Lol I don't really like it here either. I prefer cold more than hot. I think I'll stick with possibly moving to Colorado. It's a lot closer to Texas than ny!

Yeah, it's probably easier to move a few states over rather than clear across the country!

Lol that's what I was thinking.

Hey Alexis all the best! I have lived in Buffalo for my masters (which basically means no car and 10-15 minutes walk in snow every time I was going somewhere). I went there directly from a decent hot humid area in India :) everybody here helped you alrdy with the clothings but my only advice will be to mentally prepared and not be much worried about the cold :) I was pretty sure that the cold will be way too much than I ever thought and it really did help me...
