There are many different beautiful shapes to choose from but have you ever considered getting a shape that's personalized to your fingers? If you look at the way your nail is growing out of your finger, you will notice the curvature of the shape. Some are more semi-moon shaped like this ( Some are more straight across like this [. Just another option. But some girls don't like the shape of their nailbed. Then you can pick a shape that visually counteracts your shape to give it a more pleasing look to your taste. You may admire a particular shape on someone else, but it may not be as flattering on your finger. Just like hairstyles.

Wow Marleen! What an insightful comment! I'd never ever given a thought about the shape of my nail bed, I guess because it's never bothered me, but what good advice! It's something that every girl (or guy too!) should consider when it's time to choose how to have their nails shaped.
Also, this might be a bit of a stupid question, but I've never heard of "coffin" shaped nails. Could someone post a picture for me? Thanks!
