I have one crown brush and I like it, I use it every day, but I don't really know of any other "good quality " brands!

I've heard that Sigma is only a medium quality brand, however I just ordered 14 brushes and I love them so far. A fellow makeup artist and friend uses them as well. The price is great and so far I like them. I've heard Real Techniques is good and if you have the money then you can't go wrong with Kevyn Aucoin brushes.

I was thinking about the sigma brushes but then I heard some people saying they were shedding and coming unglued.

I love the Royal and Langnickel brushes- both the Silk Pro and [R]evolution. These brushes have a good price point and they wear well. Hakuhodo are so luxe- I love them. Are you looking for synthetic or natural hair brushes?

I love my Wayne Goss brushes. I bought them one by one, to go along with what I needed. You can get both the Wayne Goss brushes and Kevyn Aucoin brushes here on Beautylish. xo.

Not sure where they fall on the quality spectrum, but I love my sephora brand brushes.

I couldn't agree more, Jacqueline. Once you start with Japanese brushes, you can't just get one. These are my babies! And they need to be treated with silk gloves. My [R]evolution brushes from R&L are indestructible. Not the case with Chikuhodo or Hakuhodo. These are treated with kid gloves.
You can definitely ruin those babies. Such a thorough explanation of brushes. You covered all the bases. I love my natural hair brushes for powder- they seem to pick up the color more evenly and blend like a dream.

Real Techniques and Eco Tools for cheaper (in the US) brushes. IT Cosmetics brushes are now available at Ulta and super soft! They make kits too to make them more affordable. I also got some Nordstrom brand brushes that were my first brush set. They are soft and wash well and last a long time (and cheap) but don't dense. They are more like travel brushes so I expanded my collection shortly after.
