So I want to start doing more looks that incorporate glitter. It doesn't matter if it's loose glitter or a shadow that comes glittery already. Can you ladies give a few suggestions, maybe point me in the direction of some good products to achieve glittery looks?

Do you want suggestions on adhesives, actual glitters, application tips, sealants?

Hannah I kind of want suggestions on all of them. My only work with glitter so far has been glittery eyeshadow in a palette and one type of glitter liner from Sephora. So I want to branch out and see what else is out there and kind of learn what I don't know. And I don't know much about glitter so any and all advice is appreciated.

I've been seeing so many beautiful glittery looks on Instagram, I'm ready to jump in and try it out. I have a general idea on the adhesives, Jacklyn Hill uses one, but as far as products I'm totally lost. I would like to start out with something easier to use and work my way up.

Aru I'll look into MakeupGeek glitters!  Thanks!

I'm a total glitter girl (so is Alma) so let me see if I can help you =)

ADHESIVE: you want this. It provides a stickier base so that the glitter doesn't fall and will stay on longer. It's like if you mixed an eye primer with glue; it helps keep your glitter where you put it, doesn't crease and is generally awesome. You can use it alone or you can use it over eyeshadows, depending upon the look you're going for and what kind of adhesive you use. There are a bunch to choose from but for the most part they fall into two categories, those being creams and liquids.
-Lit's Glitter Adhesive is a liquid. The way it works is, you dip your brush into the adhesive, then into the glitter. This creates more of a glittery paste, as opposed to sticking the glitter on top of a glue.
-Too Faced Glitter Glue, Lime Crime's Glitter Helper, LA Splash's Glitter Base are all examples of cream kind of products. These, you don't mix with the glitter. You apply them to your eyes (either before eyeshadow or after, if you do it after you apply your eyeshadow, use a light tapping motion, that way it won't smear your shadow) and then use a brush to stick the glitter to the adhesive.

APPLICATORS: Jackie recently recommended me the MUFE #224 Brush, which is a silicone applicator. It's awesome, because the glitter will stick to the silicone so that there's no fall out. Barring that, a cheap brush that you don't like will work best, so that you don't ruin a brush you care about, since glitter is a PAIN to get out of brushes.

FALLOUT: there are a few ways to avoid/get rid of fallout. Use tape (careful with this, it can pull your skin/give wrinkles etc.), this will absolutely pick up all of the glitter on your face. You can also apply a thick layer of powder under your eyes before you apply the glitter, and then brush away the powder along with any glitter fallout that has occurred. The above brush (MUFE #224) will really help though.

SEALANTS: The best two that I've tried are the LA Splash and Anastasia Beauty Genius. The LA Splash is actually slightly better, as I find that it dries more completely. The ABH retains a slightly tacky finish to it, which isn't really a disaster, but it's not my favorite thing. These will help ensure that during the day there's no shedding of glitter, it literally seals and provides an extra layer of security to make sure your glitter stays on.

GLITTERS: I've tried a few different brands of glitters, and I love all of them for different reasons.
-OCC glitters are pretty good, they have some nice colors and aren't super chunky, but aren't incredibly fine either.
-MUFE glitters (the actual glitters, not the diamond powders) are really nice. They don't have a ton of fun shades, but they're nice and pretty finely milled.
-Lit Glitters are amazing. I love how many shade choices there are, and they have different glitter sizes which is great.
-Lime Crime glitters are really fun. They have great colors, and some of them are holographic/duo chrome shades which I love. They're all (with the exception of one) named after astrological signs, which is pretty cool also, and the glitter colors sort of correspond to that. They're not the most finely milled, though, which occasionally bothers me.

I'm sure there's stuff that I'm missing, please let me know if you have any other questions about glitter, I'm happy to help!

I'm shopping online now. I may go to Sephora tomorrow to see if they have the MUFE glitters. I live in a small city so my Sephora doesn't carry nearly as much as most of them do. We'll see and I'll definitely post looks!
