Nooooooo do u have an Esthetician that you see regularly? If not that would be the first step. Go to a medspa. I am I licensed Esthetician and see acneic skin daily, there are many options to choose. Remember nothing happens over night but if you get in the right routine and products you def see a turn around. Accutane is very dangerous. That's for someone that has severrrrree acne.

My husband took acutane with no side effects, but he said if there's any risk you can get pregnant do NOT take it. It causes severe birth defects. Also, women in general are more prone to the harsh side effects it has- it can cause severe depression, make you suicidal, liver damage, and you're required to have bi-monthly blood work done. I would definitely recommend you see an esthetician before you use acutane. Acutane should be a definite last resort.

No no no no no no no! I've heard so many scary stories about it! So many people have become severely depressed and suicidal, I know having severe acne can't be fun but it's really not worth the side effects!

I took Accutane and it was a lifesaver! Yes, it may have side effects but those are rare. The most discomfort I got was from having chapped lips, otherwise I've been acne free for 5 years and counting. I took Accutane for 5 months. Also, I'd say depression is a severe and rare side effect. After years of feeling ugly and having low self-esteem due to my acne, being on Accutane and having clear skin made me so happy.

I've been on it 4 times, and it never worked. I've eventually grown out of it. Which annoyingly is what everyone told me when I had bad acne. I still suffer from the side effects if accurate 10 yrs later.... And it's not good. It's hard because when your young and have bad acne, it's s vicious circle you think will never end... So the thought that this pill will take it all away seems like heaven. The thing with accutane is that you're either the lucky one who ends up in heaven or the hell of living with the after effects. Imagine being 26 and you have lovely skin but your so messed up from taking accutane that you can't bare looking in a mirror, going out, sleeping well, feeling good about yourself etc
I would just say think about what's really important for the person you want to be... Not the skin you want right now.

I was told not to drink alcohol while on it... Being in high school that was impossible! It worked out pretty good but I get the odd pimple here and there. Just when I get one its really really bad haha. I also think I got some sort of side effect where I get blotchy all over randomly, it sucks and I'm now on the hunt to cute that ha. Skin problems are a drag and I know where you're coming from... I would still take accutane even with the side effects. Extremely reduced them and the 6 months of dryness was worth it haha.
