I was wondering if proactive actually does good for the skin. My t zone is somewhat oily and I have a lot of pimples on my t zone and cheeks.

From what I've heard from all my friends, proactive is effective depending on the climate in which you live in. I used to live in the tropics and proactive does not bode well with such humidity. If you live in places like Midwest America, my friends say it works really well (dry climate). I used to have a bad case of constant t-zone breakouts but what I did to achieve clear skin was 1) drink plentyyyyyyyyyyyyy of water 2) wash my face with neutrogena acne stress control 3) apply an alcohol-free toner (neutrogena) 4) lastly, use clean and clear dual action moisturizer!

Oh, and to top it all off, I also used an aveeno bb cream (for a clear complexion)

I've used it and had a very bad experience, it darkened my skin, made my skin very sensitive and when I stopped using it I had the biggest ever break out.. I went to the doctor and she told me I had an infection so she put me on antibiotic medication.

I used the face wash and this mask and my skin was literally burned. It stung for days and my skin was bright red for a couple of days. I have always heard terrible things about proactive I would never use it.

If you have sensitive skin, I wouldn't buy it. I have acne and sensitive, oily skin. because proactive uses benzol peroxide, it is very harsh. it dried my skin to the point of flaking and pain. I actually said that it hurt so bad I would rather have acne than dry skin like this. my acne didn't go away, but my skin looked horrible.

My best friend has it and loves it, though she does not have super acne prone skin. She would rarely get pimples before proactive so I don't know how well it works. Honestly I'd suggest spending your money on a clarisonic or a dermatologist visit instead. Both of those helped me from being a "pizza face" for 6 years to having completely clear skin.

It really is dependent on your skin. My cousin has super sensitive but super acne prone skin, and her dermatologist suggested proactive, she got worried (you only hear the horror stories) but she tried it. That was over 5 years ago and she still uses it today. It's the only thing that worked for her, and she only gets little breakouts instead of huge all over the face constant acne.
I would try it, it's the only way to know if it works or not.

Use a charcoal/clay mask to clear spots and it also helps with oiliness! I recommend the Origins Charcoal mask. Although a bit pricey it's well worth the price and basically cleared my skin! Mine used to be exactly like yours but now it's amazing!
