I'm with Shaye and Les on this one. An ombre has colors transitioning from darker to lighter gradually, or lighter to darker (reverse ombre). This is not a gradual transition, between your base color and the silver it looks more like peek a boo highlights which I'm personally not a fan of. Like Les said, there's still brown on the bottom which doesn't qualify it as an ombre, and I think an ombre would look better & if the brown was a cooler tone it would look better against the silver but it's such a warm base it doesn't seem to go well together in my opinion. I do think you did great if this is the look you were trying to achieve though & I love the shade of silver

Sarah for the most part it is a cool brown, it's very hard to get rid of my natural ginger undertones and it's something I'm still in the process of doing with the top of my head because they always seem to peek through! The hair itself does have an ombre to it but I also added highlights as you said, so it is a bit of both, regardless of the technical term for it! I wasn't sure what else to call it as I thought it was a bit too far up to call it dip dye but I have no idea! Haha

I personally think the contrast is simply stunning!! It's unique and I definitely see the ombre effect. While the entire lower half of her hair isn't ombre, the individual dyed strands are. The warm/cool brown mixed with it compliments it beautifully!

Brittany I feel you I have struggled with my hair pulling very warm every time I get it done, no matter the tone and color. I like the colors in the last picture better I think it'd look great if the brown was darker on top it'd look beautiful with the black and silver. I love those shades on you just not the base with those colors but I get it if definitely a process

I agree with Symone, a cooler toned brown would suit the silver slightly better, but I think it's absolutely stunning on you! I've never seen that done before I love it!

Thanks everyone, and yes ladies as I mentioned above I'm working on getting my hair to a cooler tone, I'm a natural ginger and I started off with my natural colour so its a bit more of a process to hide my undertones.
