I'm petite so I can't speak from experience, & I don't know of many plus size clothing stores but I've seen a plus size section at Forever 21 & I know they sell crop tops so I'd definitely look there! As for how they fit, I'd just suggest trying on multiple styles & see what looks and feels the best on you
