Hello :)

I want to buy a foundation with medium coverage for my mom (birthday gift) but I don't know which one could be a good option.

Her skin is:
Mature (some visible pores and fine lines)
Combination (on the oily side)
A couple of sun blemishes

She is used to powder foundations, but she may use liquid if it is a very good product :)

What would you consider "mature )" skin? Is there a certain preference she has in finish..satin, dewy, matte? What product and shade/finish is she currently using?

My mum really likes Estee Lauder perfectionist (she's on her third bottle now) but prior to that she was quite faithful to double wear (but found it quite heavy) and ysl touche eclat.

Rozberry, I mean without firmness, smooth surface and with age and sun spots. The finish would be natural.
She's using a foundation from a brand sold by catalog (kinda like Avon) but it is not doing the job.
Her skin tone is light/medium with neutral undertones.

Rebecca, I just read somo reviews of the Est?e Lauder Perfectionist and seems to be a great option. Thanks!

My mom uses Estée Lauder resilience lift and loves it! I doubt you can go wrong with Estée Lauder!

Hmmm...I think a light peel at a spa (which costs just a bit more than top line foundation) would be an amazing gift...or perhaps a package of peels she can do herself, such as Dr Dennis Gross peel pads or Bliss Oncredipeels, which are the same price as high end foundations would help rectify those issues rather than hide them with foundation. Groupon always has specials as do most spas. Yelp and Foursquare reviews may prove helpful.
I respect your desire to treat your mom and so please do not misunderstand my response. I assure you it comes from consideration and an effort to make her feel fantastic.

(They would brighten her complexion, even out her skin tone, diminish hyperpigmentation, soften lines and smooth her skins texture.) She can cut them in half and it lasts twice as long...plus they can be used on hands, tops of feet and of cose the neck and decollete.

Don't worry, Rozberry :) actually my dad's gift is a couple of sessions at a spa (she loves them!)

How exciting for her! Estee Lauder is great, but dome formulas run skin dry. I recommend Laura Mercier, although you can get Estee Lauder deluxe samples for free at the counter. Good luck!
