I have been searching for years now for a glorious foundation that I fall head over heels in love with. I just can't seem to find it! All of the foundations that I've used I feel are too "sheer". I put foundation on and I feel as if its not anywhere other than the places it gets caked up in! I use Too Faced Primed and Poreless underneath, and also Juice Beauty's oil free moisturizer (AMAZING PRODUCT BTW). I apply my foundation with a beauty blender as well. I don't know if there's something I'm doing wrong or if it's just a matter of finding the perfect foundation!

Also; I have combination skin. I don't have many skin troubles other than a few zits and some discoloration.

I just want that flawless, porcelain look and can't seem to get it! Any suggestions?

Well whenever I applied my foundation ( urban decay ) with a beauty blender it was always much more sheer then when I use my expert face brush by sonia kashuk. Maybe try a different tool to apply

Is the Too Faced primed and poreless silicon based? And what base is the foundations you're using? Are you waiting a couple minutes after applying your primer, giving it time to settle? And...since your foundation seems sheer,I've notice I get that too when I use a sponge. What foundation (s) are you using? Sorry for all the questions! Just trying help: )

I've heard good things about Estée Lauder double wear so I think I'll have to give that one a try.. And maybe use a different tool! I've heard that the sponges make makeup apply more sheer so I'll have to try something else out in the tool department too! So thank you both! And Monica, I believe Primed and Poreless is silicone based. I give it time to settle before applying my foundation, but I've used foundations with all sorts of bases. Right now I'm using Maybelline Liquid mousse and I actually am rather enjoying it but it's still not everything I'm looking for.

I second the Estée Lauder DW but if you have any dry spots, it will cling to them and emphasis them. Also, I would try using a brush and see how you like it. Personally, I hate sponges and just prefer brushes because I also like good coverage.

I love my beauty blender but it does make some of my foundations look a bit sheer. Maybe just try a brush instead of the bb

My hg foundation is Hourglass immaculate liquid foundation. Doesn't cling to dry spots, last all day and keeps me matte all day.

I have combo skin (more on the oily side) and I love the NARS all day luminous weightless foundation.
I've heard people say that it isn't weightless and looks like a "mask" which is the exact opposite.
it's a great foundation.

I haven't tried it. But tools definitely have an effect on the look of foundation.

I use a powder foundation from Jane iredale and I absolutely love it! Full coverage, makes your skin look glowy and pretty as it works with the natural oils in your skin. Also, make sure your primer and foundation are a match for eachother- try not to use oil based primer and then water based foundation as it would separate on your skin. Hope that makes sense. And I have heard that people apply foundation with a brush and then just kind of blot with a beauty blender although I don't use a beauty blender. Hope this helps :)

I might kind of/sort of be able to help (I'm not a pro) but I've become something of a foundation junky lately and my skin runs the spectrum from dry flaky patches (I have psoriasis) to areas where it is an oil slick. Very much combination skin. I have been experimenting with different combos of primers/foundations/and setting powders. Only question I have is what finish do you want? Matte/Satin/Dewey? Maybe I can show you a few different combos to try. Let me know.

Thanks Jacqueline for that break down of brushes! I just had to throw away my foundation brush, so I will keep all these things in mind when looking for a new one :)

I really love the UD optical blurring brush when I want heavier coverage than my sponge. That or my RT expert face brush I think its called. The Real Techniques brush packs it on even too much though for my taste unless my skin is really misbehaving; )

Sorry jacqueline but it doesn't look anything like how you explain it on me.
not even close to a "mask" and I never feel it on my skin.
I have combo skin and I LOVE the NARS all day luminous.
