How long until my cartilage heals?

Not sure what category this would go in...
I had my cartilage pierced with a needle a couple of months ago. how long until I can change the earring? Is there a way to tell if it is healed?

You aren't suppose to change piercing jewellery for 6 weeks after the date of piercing. There isn't really a definite way to tell if it's healed, it will get itchy during the healing period, it will hurt less when touched, but you can ask a piercer when you buy new jewellery if they think it's healed or not

Cartilage piercings are a little different then normal "lip" piercings, you'll need to wait at least 12 weeks ( 3 months) before considering changing the jewellery and it'll be at least a year before it's fully healed.
