winter not summer

Bre - That area gets cleaned or wiped down daily anyways. My body doesn't over produce oils everywhere during that time so I see no reason to change things just for Aunt Flow.

No problem! Honestly showering every second or third day if I haven't done anything has helped my skin a lot. I used to get really bad reactions to some lotions (and we couldn't figure out the ingredients that were bothering me) and so for a while if I put lotion on there was a 50/50 chance I'd have to shower again and wash it off. And my skin got soooo much drier and it was awful. In the summer because it's very warm I shower every second day and if it's particularly hot I have to shower everyday, but in the winter I stretch it out to if I sweat or smell, so usually every 2-3 days and if I'm not going anywhere or seeing anyone I won't shower. Like this weekend I have no plans so unless I get itchy from the sweat I won't shower and I'll shower Sunday night since I have plans Monday. But I find that really helps with the dryness. It's like your hair, if you aren't going anywhere or seeing anyone why bother washing it and doing it and stuff, it's just a waste of product and effort lol.

I have to shower everyday because of my job, I pretty much am rolling anout in mud!! hehe. but you know what...sometimes I cannot be assed!! especially at the weekends when I'm not dirty. I definitely don't end up smelling. I do my hair about 3 times a week. its up to the person, how they feel, what their skin is like etc. there are NO rules.

When it is that time of the month which for me is maybe every two, it's a daily shower or wash in that area. I generally wash it daily anyways too, but didn't exactly feel like sharing that earlier..
I believe that water conservation is vital and should be practiced daily.

Alyx- have you ever tried glycerin or a single ingredient light oil for your skin? It may help with dryness, and since its a single ingredient it might be less likely to irritate your skin.

I have a 5 minute shower every morning in lukewarm water (unless I'm washing my hair) as I'm a gymnastics coach and a nursery nurse so I'm constantly getting covered in sweat and other stuff. I wash my hair every other day.
It depends on your body though, some people need it everyday due to their jobs or body problems but some people only need it once every 2 days. It really depends on the person.

Jen - I have tried everything - I've gone to an allergist and discovered it's just a skin disorder (I don't remember the name but my skin when it gets lotion or water too much breaks out in hives) but I've got it figured out, but thank you lol. :)

I personally like to shower every NIGHT. for me I just can't sleep feeling dirty lol. I understand water conservation, but hygiene is a whole different story. not trying to be negative at all just sharing my personal opinion :)

I shower everyday because I'm always sweaty and smelly from working out. Also, my summer job gets me pretty dirty. If you're not dirty or smelling bad, you can get by without showering. Whatever works best for you :)

I think it depends on what activities you are doing. Personally, here in florida, just being outside will make me start sweating. I also think if working out, dirty jobs, periods, after sexual intercourse, and skin type will also dictate how much to shower. Go off what's best for you. Showering, using soap on my body and privates hasn't caused me any problems. Base it off your lifestyle.

I am also one of the "only showers when I need to" people, which means it varies from week to week. This week I showered on Monday night after all of my doctors appointments (because I felt like I needed to wash away hospital atmosphere), and I don't need another shower yet. I am homebound, bedridden for the most part, use a wheelchair, and never go outside in the heat (so no sweating). With my excessively dry skin, I can probably go for 2 weeks with no shower and nobody would be the wiser. With our severe water rationing, it might come down to that anyway...

Whenever you feel like it. Sometimes I bath and shower in the same day, sometimes I'm too busy exploring so it's like twice a week. I don't really think there's a set guideline. Just do it when you want/need it.

I shower every night. I'm a horseback rider, so every afternoon I get dusty, dirty, sweaty under helmet, disgusting haha. I'm also severely allergic to horses, hay, mold, dust etc. so it's really important for me to get that off. Break lots of sweat even in the winter.
I wash my hair every day or every other day, depending on how gross it got under my helmet and what I'm doing the next day :)
