Hey can someone tell me if this looks okay? Because this was my first attempt at a smokey eye look and I could really use some tips and advice.

Do you have a close up?

Yeah a close up with your eyes closed would be awesome 😊😊 I do think that smoking out some black or dark brown on the bottom lash line would help it look less unbalanced and top heavy though from that I can see right now!

Also be sure you post the products you used 😊

It looks really bad closed haha.

Tons of people do their liner like that, it doesn't look bad. That actually isn't a smokey eye though. I'm pretty sure that's somewhat of a cut crease. I could be wrong. Here's an example of a smokey eye.

Hmm I think this is the opposite of a smokey eye.
smokey eyes are supposed to be concentrated at one place then gradually turn/fade into nothing.
the blending has to be very very good.
I think you should practice your blending.

Lol I'm still to this day not sure what I'm doing! Yes a smokey eye goes from dark on the lid to fading into a lighter version of that color, kind of like smoke from a fire, the ashes are black and fade into a grey color.. & I believe Smokey eyes don't have liner.

I think that you just need to go really heavy handed with the black eyeshadow around your liner to blend it out and do the same on your lower lashes :)

Awe thank you!

I think it could be called a cut crease from what I'm seeing :) I definitely encourage you to do research on all the different eyeshadow styles, they're so fun to practice and once you've got them mastered you can really play around with colour and design!

It's okay girl! I still can't to this day do a smokey eye! It still looks pretty. Just blend it some more (: If you want to create a smokey eye, I agree with the other girls. Darker on lid and fades out to almost nothing!

From what the girls have said the part that I know to be true is of the smokey eye being like a smoke from a fire because alma says it and I'm sure thats where shanae got it from, a smokey eye never has a winged liner and the darkest color starts from the lash line and fades into nothing as you go up, and if I remember right its not pulled to the side giving it a cat eye shape... What you have done here seems more like a cut crease you just need to intensify the color on the lid because it looks patchy 😊

I got it from Hannah, but a lot of moderators use that example, I wouldn't doubt it coming from Alma's gorgeous self!

The girls are right :) But don't get discouraged! I can't do a smokey eye to save my life! It just takes practice, you'll get it! This look is pretty none the less!
