I'm wondering if you ladies have tried different types of contouring and the look was different but good, or if no matter what, only one type is for your face.

What I mean is I was seeing women contour using a "clown" outline and it looked amazing, I can't remember the other names but it was a different style that came out amazing. Thoughts?

I personally only contour with my powder from abh that I dislike tbh, but I do it lightly on my forheard, temples, under the cheek, jaw and slightly in the nose. I deeply dislike dramatic or orange contours. To me the whole clown contouring or contouring with the crazy colours all over the face that I see on IG is sooo unnecessary and unnatural and just a "cool" and hip way of painting the face beforehand, but thats just my opinion. I also do my highlighting, then contour, bronzer and blush. I find it messy to have everything on the face at once.

More powder to the girls who actually do this everyday because damn that extra 15 minutes of sleep is precious to me hahaha. I personally find it a little unflattering in person, I mean you can see all that product no matter what you do. From afar, yes it looks nice, but I think this should only be used when you're a) filming or b) taking pictures. It looks good in photos :)

Its a cool concept ;) look at henna contouring, lol. its just insane to me, makeup is such an art The Latest In Contouring Will Make You Feel Even Worse About Your M... http://www.buzzfeed.com/niralishah/henna-contour?utm_term=.sbo5K2O4A9

Also, to answer your question, I definitely think there's a certain way you should contour your own face. we all have different shapes, and hollows in the fave, and different bone structures so you definitely don't want to copy something you see in pictures/videos. I mean you can,but cater to your fave shape. Find your own way to clown contour with your bone structure haha.

Thanks RT. I don't really want to try the clown look, but you totally answered my question. Maybe if I get bored at home I'll try lol but for public I'll stick to my simple look. By the way, I think I remember you saying you don't like to do the darker colors, you only like to highlight. It may have been someone else but I do that for my everyday makeup lol.

Yeah, I've never contoured but I do highlight more often than not. :) I just think its easier to use in moderation, than a brown product on my lighter skin haha. Yeah, its fun to try it out! I attempt to contour at home but it just looks like sh?t  hahaha.

I have seen a lot of these and have tried a few myself. A few have worked flawlessly (the clown one mostly). But for some of these I just don't understand why they put so much work into it. Some of them don't really seem to do anything for the face (The second picture and Second to last picture). So I guess it just depends on the person and how much time they're willing to put in in the morning lol :)

Ya...I'm not doing all that no matter what everyone else is doing. I do light contouring for my individual face shape. I know what I'm trying to play up & play down and adjust my makeup to achieve that look. Over the years my face has changed so my makeup has changed.
