My skin is drying ALL over! It looks terrible when I put on foundation but what is worse is I have bad acne so I feel even worse about not being able to wear makeup!
I was never really a skin care junkie so I just would use basic drug store washes and moisturizers but I am currently using purity to wash my face and coconut oil to moisturizer hoping it gets rid of the dry skin! I don't know what to do! Exfoliating doesn't help I am stuck.

I've been using a basic neutrogena moisturizer in the morning and then coconut oil at night.

I usually do not use DIY masks but this one in particular worked wonders for me. It consists of one egg, 1 & 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, and just a little bit of cinnamon. I left the mixture on my face until it completely dried then washed it off. Olive oil and egg are great natural ingredients to moisturize. The cinnamon was used to exfoliate. After I wash off the mask, I apply a thin layer of apricot seed oil all over my skin. Apricot seed oil quickly helped get rid of my dry patches and it also fades acne scars. I actually use it on a regular basis now. I suggest you only exfoliate 1-2 times a week because if you exfoliate any more than that, then you are stripping your skin of its natural oils which may lead to dry, irritated skin.

Try CeraVe moisturizing lotion or cream! I swear by it, it changed my skin from dry to normal.

Oh yeah, also, you might want to stop using coconut oil for a week just to see if your acne changes at all-- coconut oil is a great moisturizer, but it clogs pores on some people. It might not be hurting your skin at all, but it's always good to make sure. Best of luck with your skin!

My acne is hormonal because of my birth control and started way before I was using coconut oil :(

If your talking about Philosophy's Purity wash, it totally broke me out and caused dryness.
I'd recommend CeraVe or Cetaphil. These two always impress me
