So I wanna dye my hair about two or three shades darker. My hair is naturally a light blonde brown color. I've never dyed my hair before but I am still very cautious if I should. I really want to but before I make a final decision I would like to know all of your warnings, and what I should know before I dye my hair darker. Thanks!

Hi Michaela! I'm having the same problem, but I want to go lighter. My hair is naturally dark & I've had highlights before. When I wanted to go back to dark, I had to bleach my hair. I'm very cautious to go light bc I don't want to damage my hair if I decide to go dark again. I think you should go for a darker color though, it'd no hair to your hair unless your hair is dry or already damaged :)

My advice is really think about it, you don't know how hard it is to remote dark colours, I would personally avoid going darker and maybe choose to get highlights or go lighter rather than darker.

I usually go one or two shades darker than the color I want, because I find dark dyes never come out dark enough and fade immediately. In winter I usually dye a brown very close to black. I like the contrast to my white skin.

My main worry would be having a hard time getting that pretty blonde hair back to its exact color! I hate to see my blonde friends go dark and get sick of it too soon, because it's a process to go light again. especially if you plan on using box color. I would do it slowly, maybe start with a very light brown, then to medium & then darker if you still want to! I have to agree w shaye, I have medium brown hair naturally, but colored it black out of the box for years and my hair will never be the same :-/ and I'll never see that natural color again haha. good luck girl :)
