I've always wanted to dye my hair, and I'm still deciding whether I want to dye it with unnatural colors (like lavender/purple/blue) or something more natural... I just don't know if it would look good with my skin type, since I am darker. I noticed paler skinned people are able to dye their hair whatever they want and get away with it. :( I was wondering what you all think? I would love any suggestions on hair color ideas...

While pastels look beautiful on paler skin, I find vivd colors to look beautiful on a more tan completion. I'm obsessed with every vivids color Pravana has to offer... and despite the fact that it's semi-permanent, it takes forever to fade which is a plus. the only down side is most of them require a level 7 (medium-light blonde) to a level 10 (white blonde), in order to receive consistent results. so yes, this means damaging your hair just a bit because it looks like you'll need to lighten your canvas first. I went from the darkest brown to a beautiful violet-wild orchid, loved it so much the damage didn't even phase me. deff something to try at least once and see how you feel about it! I was always with the crazy colors... it was sad going back to my natural color. I can give you some better recommendations on what colors I would suggest and how to formulate them if you could post a picture of your face in some good lighting! what color are your eyes? my screen is shattered, can't see much -_-

I think you just have to find the right tone for you. Honestly I think just about every color can be pulled off by almost any tone.
Here's a few links that will be helpful though
This one is another BL thread where I basically spammed with photos of darker skinned beauties with colored hair : http://www.beautylish.com/t/icavnp/hair-color-help-opinion
Here's a few tumblrs that can help you decide what tone you like :)
http://prettyblackpastel.tumblr.com/tagged/bright - this one has all sorts of darker tones, but telling from your pictures, you're considered "bright" in their tags.
http://blackgirlscolorfulhair.tumblr.com/ this one isn't tagged like the one above, but its got lots of ideas.
http://lovelydyedlocks.tumblr.com/ - this one isn't a darker skin only one, but if you select a color or combo of colors, just about every skin tone will pop up.
Hope these help :) I know when I'm looking for other colors to do, and I'm not sure if itll suit me, looking at TONS of photos of other people helps a lot.

You are super pretty Talei. c: I am actually of spanish/native descent that's why my eyes are a bit squinted, and my hair is very thick because of my tejana/native blood. People always think I'm Asian tho w.o my glasses /.\ I hope I can rock those colors too!
