What is the best makeup over all to cover acne and make large pores seem less noticeable?

I have acne prone skin and I really enjoyed using the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation to cover up a bad break out I had.
Other great lines are CoverFX (Made specifically to cater to acne prone skin types), The MUFE Full coverage concealer (The one in the tube), and Estee Lauder.
To help up my pores I use Paula's Choice 2% BHA exfoliant and the PoreFessional primer.

I find that using the Urban decay optical blurring brush to apply just about any foundation helps to blur pores. Especially the ud naked, Revlon nearly naked (a comparable dupe), Maybelline fit me and too faced born this way. I've been rotating through these with great results.

I agree with the brands kitty mentioned - I also have sensitive acne prone skin and I've used coverFX, Estée Lauder and MUFE - I like full coverage for my acne scars but for raised bumps I like to use the Clinique acne solutions line - and find its great for color correcting redness while covering up the pimple with a matte finish so it doesn't stand out - also agree with kitty's advice for pores - the best way to reduce their appearance is to deep clean with a chemical exfoliant like a BHA or AHA and then silicon based primers can help fill them slightly to also help reduce their appearance.

Wait, Diana...! I've been told acne prone skin can be irritated by silicone-based primers. I just posted similarly about my daughter who has the same problems. I got 4 different Smashbox samples for her to try (along with Hourglass Veil & I'm waiting for the Laura Geller Spackle, as recommended by the amazing Jacqueline), and then someone else told me she should not use silicone products! Glad to have you collective opinions on good full coverage foundations. She's been using the CC cream by It Cosmetics, but maybe that's to dewy for her skin type...?

@Kitty - the MUFE you mentioned, that's a concealer, not a foundation? How about the Estee Lauder - concealer or foundation? Is the PoreFessional primer drying to the skin?

@Kitty & Diana - which Cover FX do you recommend?

Thank you Jacqueline! So much to know about and so many variables! We'll just try them all!

Miss Jacqueline you are very knowledgable! I'm not an expert by any means - and I personally have had one adverse reaction to a primer by clarins that had silicone in it - but aside from that I haven't had trouble with the hourglass or porefessional primers - so I don't think it was the silicone that my skin was reacting to in the clarins (as miss Jacqueline mentioned) but it irritated my skin by making it feel itchy all day until I took it off (which is never a good sign) otherwise for coverFX I have tried their natural finish foundation and it worked nicely for me and it's more medium coverage as opposed to full so it's a more natural looking finish - I've also tried their cc cream and I liked it too but it was a little on the light side for me in terms of color matching - but other than that I liked it :)

For the MUFE - I like their full coverage concealer and their mat velvet foundation - they both are on the fuller side of coverage - which I love - but also they look very natural when applied and never look cakey - which is also great - for Estée Lauder I use the maximum cover foundation in the blue tube - that stuff is amazing full coverage that looks very natural too - none of those products ever gave my skin problems

@Diana - thank you! I will definitely have my daughter try the products you mentioned.
