Anyone have a good suggestion for a non-matte primer? My makeup looks too dull when I used most primers. I like to add a little setting powder and it always looks on the dry side.

Have you try a finishing spray? it could get ride of the powdery look and bring back don't deweyness.

Try MAC Strobe Cream and then spray some MAC Fix+ after you powder to get rid of the powdery/dry look and keep your skin looking glowy (:

I like to use fix first then add Squalane oil press on then add strobe cream and then add foundation with similar finish and powder I use hourglass Radiant light.:)

Don't rate strobe cream as a primer. My fave is Estée Lauder radiance primer its oil free as well

Luke, although strobe cream is not under the primer category but it adds glow to the skin. She mentioned about dry side, so adding strobe cream prior to makeup would be a big help. So chill. It's just a suggestion.

I really like these two for adding glow and moisture. After you let it sit for a few minutes you will be left with a healthy glow. I think the Pacifica brand is also cruelty free and vegan if that's important! By the way, the Pacifico is marketed as a BB cream so it should act as a primer along with other benefits. I really like both but prefer the Pacifico Primer below.

Thanks for the suggestions! Primers never help me makeup stay. I've tried every technique of application.

Estee lauder radiance primer is the same thing as the strobe cream they just decided to call one a primer they both hydrate the skin with radiance. :) after all they're both family line's since Estee owns Mac and they both illuminate glam so you can't go wrong.
By the way your welcome Danielle hope you find something that fits your needs. :) when in doubt with primer you can also use a beauty balm like Boots N7 beauty balm it's just like strobe cream and Estee but at a much cheaper price. I'll have to check out the suggestions Jane mentioned :)

I just tried out a deluxe sample of MAC Strobe Cream the other day after a 10+ year hiatus under my MAC Pro Long Wear Nourishing Waterproof foundation (what a flippin' mouthful right there) and it definitely gives an awesome glow without shimmer/glitter. And even after I added powder and blush I still didn't look flat and powdery. A quick spritz of misting spray wasn't even needed. And what's nice about the formula that it is hydrating so after application your skin does feel hydrated. It also doesn't change the color or texture of your foundation either.

Use the new backlight priming filter by Becca! Jaclyn hill and Kathleenlights rave about it on their youtube channels.

Also the Lauder primer is fragrance free, I personally prefer that, strobe cream has fragrance :)

I always hear about boots and never bothered looking at them. I hear amazing things about Becca. I will try a less expensive one and then maybe explore more. I'll look for the boots. I don't find primers keep my makeup on! And it always seems streaky and dry : (

I am an avid coconut user. I wash my face with it and then use witch hazel and then Eucerin spf 30.
