Lice in my brushes?

I recently found out that I have lice. I'm freaking out over it in general, but I'm also concerned for my makeup brushes. I use a large powder brush to apply my dry shampoo and I know that it's been in contact with my other brushes.

Most sites I've found on the internet say that to disinfect hair brushes I should soak them in rubbing alcohol for up to five hours. Should I do this with my brushes, or will the bristles fall out? Would it be better to put them in a plastic bag for two weeks, wait for the lice to die, and then clean?

To clairify: when I say bushes I mean my makeup brushes. Sorry!

Clean them with warm water and soap but don't use alcohol, your brushes will be clean and soft and no the bristles won't fall of honey!

A thorough washing should suffice but I would sustain from using them until about two weeks from that wash due to the possibility of hatching eggs! If you're still concerned check with your doctor.

Wouldn't you also have to use one of those nit combs to comb out any eggs if there are any?

@vivien @kaleigh thank you so much for your advice! I'm doing the two week bagged thing and spritzing with alcohol.
