Summer's Eve is a brand of feminine hygiene products: douches, washes, and deodorants for the bikini area. There are health risks associated with using scented products and douches in this area, namely increased risk of gynecological cancers. I wouldn't use any of them, but I lost my mother-in-law to cervical cancer so I tend to take this stuff a little personally.

I don't have any experience with Summer's Eve specifically but I wouldn't use those types of products on a regular basis. The vagina's self cleaning so using anything scented can disrupt the PH balance.

I'm not sure I've read anything regarding a link between these products and cancers (though I would be interested in reading about it if you could point me in the direction of any research Emily that would be really helpful! I'm really keen to have a read about it myself).

I personally might use a wipe on that area (one specifically formulated for the area) if I'm expecting intimacy and I feel I need it (once a month if that as most of the time I've got no concerns) which I don't see any issues with if it's not regular.

If you are concerned about not feeling clean down there or any smells that you find offensive I'd have a chat to your doctor.

I don't have any advice as I'm in the same boat as Emily, I'm sorry to hear that by the way, my aunt is going for her last surgery this month, and since she found out last year, its been a whole new world on what can contribute to it.

Rebecca -As far as I know, they don't directly cause cancer, but when you throw off the pH balance of anything, it doesn't react the same. In the case of the vagina it doesn't fight off bacteria as well. That's why a lot of women get yeast infections, utis etc.from douching or using soaps there, and after using something like a shaving cream near it can be itchy and red.
That's at least how I believe it is, it's the same thing with just about every body part. I know my uncle had skin cancer, just a little growth on a forehead more, but he shaves his head and used to use a harsh not ph balanced for the skin soap and the doctor told him to stop, because it throws off the pH balance and doesn't fight as well. It was an issue because he shaved his head then went into the sun on his way to work, but it wasn't back to a normal ph so his 10 minute exposure to the sun caused it to grow quickly.
Sorry if this is rambly I can't see what I'm typing on my phone and it's 4am and I can't sleep lol.

But Yasmine I do agree, if you feel like it's an issue to get a better clean or get rid of a scent, definitely go get checked. A small to medium strength scent is normal, but anything foul, overbearing, or different than your typical smell deserves a trip to the doctor.

I've used the sensitive skin wipes (although I'm not sure why they are called that because they do have alcohol and fragrance in them) but I don't use anything else from them because like the other beauties mentioned there are health risks to using some of their products - so all I can recommend are the wipes - if you can get your hands on the fragrance free ones that would be best - but since I'm in Germany my selection is limited - but you can use baby wipes instead and probably be better off - but I'm assuming the different colors are for different lines (like the pink was the sensitive skin line, etc)

I use the wipes as Diana said above around the time of the month, and the pH ballance wash because all other forms of soap irritate me there. I do not use anything else so I can't really say much for the other products.

I don't think the washes cause infections as long as you don't let it go inside...they are made for our lady parts after all and normal soaps in shower might irritate. baby wipes are great too. I use pampers sensitive for a quick refresh and also when I'm menstruating.

I really love their cleansing wash which is formulated to keep your ph balanced in thar area. Since I've started using it I actually stopped getting a reoccurring infection from a ph imbalance:) I also keep the individual wipes in my purse just in case something comes up and I'm not feeling too fresh lol tmi. The different colors are really just the different scents. There are blue labels for calming night time use products and purple I think is sensitive etc.

The douche itself is really not a good idea as the girls above stated. Your body cleans itself out and it can really screw up your vaginal health.

I use their feminine wash because any other shower gel or soap gives me UTIs due to all the fragrances and harsh chemicals. I've also used their little individual wipees during the day at that time of the month. I use the fragrance-free ones.

Their feminine wash (no matter what type I used) made my vagina very dried out. In my opinion, I don't think anyone should use them.
