Have any of you had a problem like this...? My daughter breaks out around the folds of her nose if she puts coverup there to hide redness. I wonder if there's something she can apply first to protect that very small area from getting inflamed, without drying it out (we all know how cracked that area of the nose can get when its too dry)...? Have any of you found a way to control this? Thanks!

I don't break out in that area but I do have dry flaky skin during the winter and the only thing I've found that soothes it is embroyolisse lait creme (spelling is probably wrong) I use it as a moisturizer and primer when my skin is irritated

Thank you Maria! We'll check it out! However her skin isn't particularly dry - the makeup is clogging just right there. I thought she should use like a salicyclic or glycolic acid, but that would be too drying.

A primer is usually what is used to protect the skin from makeup - I use the hourglass primer but it's not the best for dry skin - try one by coverFX since their products were made for sensitive skin - or you can try a green primer for the redness.

The Embryolisse is great for all skin types. I use it in the Winter and I love it.

Chris, is she breaking out with acne around the nose? If so, Embryolisse Lait-creme Concentrate is mineral oil based and that doesn't always play well with acne.

@Rozberry - I applied some concealer around the folds of her nose and she actually woke up the next morning with a whitehead on one side! Thanks for the info!
@Jacqueline - fantastic! I'll check the Laura Geller out. I brought her home 4 different Smashbox primers - pores, acne, discoloration (as she has terrible malasma from too much sun!) and the lightweight Photo Finish for her to try. Any input about any of those? Checking the Laura Geller right now...! :)

BTW - only samples of the primers! ;)

Jacqueline - may I ask if you use a primer, which one? I've used Hourglass Veil for a long time, but got a travel size of the Smashbox original. Both seem fine! If I feel dry, I've been using the Smashbox, if I feel moist, I use the Hourglass. Nothing seems to fill the lines either way! Anything you'd suggest?

Wow, thanks Jacqueline! I will see if my daughter will use the products. She 29 years old - not a baby - and very stubborn. She's aware that she must stay out of the sun and begin treatment for her damage, but she says she's "not ready" to commit. I've told her I'd pay for a peel or laser or whatever through our dermatologist to begin the process, but she knows she'd have to get serious. She still wants to play in the sun (kids can be idiots at whatever age! ;))
As for the Spackle and Philosophy products, she doesn't apply them to her entire face? Or just not the Philosophy? My daughter definitely needs something all over due to pores and breakouts.
I buy all my products from my facialist and they are all medical quality as well as I see the Nia is, which I like! I use prescription Hydroquinone for lightening, but true Hydroquinone needs to be refrigerated and I keep forgetting to go to the refrigerator while I'm doing my skincare routine (imagine that?!). I will certainly check out all the products you recommended!
As for my daughter, she just isn't as interested in taking care of herself as I am (in herself and myself). It has to be simple or she won't do it. I think I've ruined her due to my own obsessions! Hahahahaha!

I'll get her the Laura Geller & Philosophy for sure! Thanks again!!
