I just bought a new kit from Murad and a clearasonic Mia1. I've been using these items for about a week. they always say it gets worse before it gets better. when is it going to get better? my acne is terrible right now and I have spots from popping that are getting slightly better. I have a dermatologist appointment Wednesday but do you guys have any tips? advice? IGNORE MY FACE MY NOSE IS SO TERRIBLE.

Hi ivey. The saying that it gets worse before they get better is if only you had under the skin comedones finally surfacing under the skin and ready to come out. But if you never had them and new acne that wasn't there before then I suspect either the kit or the clarisonic isn't suited for your skin. I simplified my skincare, and that's when my skin started getting better. My favorite toner that had a lot to do with my skin healing is Thayer's Rose petal witch hazel. It's aloe based (helps with scars) and includes witch hazel which helps with blemishes to even out our skin tone. I don't really have a dedicated cleanser but the toner helped me tremendously. It removes left behind makeup like no other also!

I would wait to see what the derm has to say before diving into any other skincare products. And whatever he/she gives you as far as an action plan...follow it to a T and do not go off course by adding additional products. Also note that you should not expect results overnight. I wish we could but unfortunately it doesn't work like that. It's take an average of 6 to 8 weeks to see a noticeable change and it's based on how advance the skin issue is. Keep us updated about your experience with the derm.
