I had asked my stylist for a bayalage and even showed several references to her. I left the salon with gross brassy ombré highlights and a conflicting ashy brunette. Any tips to fix this monstrosity? (I'm terrible at dying my hair, it is really damaged at the moment.)

I don't think it's bad either. My friend walked passed me and see my screen and she said, "woah, nice hair."

Go to the salon and have them fix it
But it doesn't look bad

I think it looks lovely, but it isn't what you asked for or paid for. My stylist is on tour so I recently had a similar experience, only returning for my free "fix" made it worse since the stylist was clueless on how to correct his errors and refused to admit it. Some salons lack talent and even the so-called best are subpar. I had to go elsewhere since the "correction" was an utter failure..particularly after my first wash. Be sure to request a correction from a Master colorist..saying you aren't confident in the stylist or their abilities. I'd phone the manager on duty.

Maybe you're just not used to it, give it a try and if not you should go back to your salon and explain how you don't like it I'm sure they'll understand! But I do like It! I think it looks very natural(:

I honestly don't think it looks TOO bad, but if your really unhappy with it you could go back for a refund or just a purple shampoo which, like Hailey said should blend the blonde in for a more natural look.

It looks so great! But I think your problem is that it wasn't your vision. You should let them know that it wasn't what you wanted.

If the blonde is what is bugging you, my sister had some highlights, well a balayage done a couple weeks ago and they were pretty obvious but within a couple days after showering it all became one and looks so natural and beautiful. The color looks best after a couple of washes. (:

I see 0 brass in there, lots of ash tones actually and I don't think it looks super obvious but not bad. Good ombres/balayages take a few times to get really pretty. But like the other ladies said call the salon. I worked in salons as a professional stylist for 4 years and if I needed help with a color fix I would grab my manager, I hope it would be the same at other salons! Or you could request the manager to do the fix

I would call them and tell them your dilemma. They may have you wait since your hair is so damaged to get more done. Dark hair tends to take a few tries to get to a gorgeous blonde but I think it looks nice. It is blended and will look great curled(:
