My face gets really red and until now I just covered it up with foundation but it hasn't really seamed to work. Is it worth investing in a toner? Which ones would you recommend?

What are you using in your skincare routine?
Products that typically contains Solvent Alcohol, Fragrance ( Natural or Synthetic ) and other skin irritants can contribute to redness.
I love using Raw Manuka Honey to help even out my skin tone and keep down inflammation.
I'd also take note of your diet... sugar can increase redness. I'd uptake water and eat any foods that are inflammatory.

I get redness and agree Raw Manuka Honey is fantastic. My sister turned me onto it by gifting me some. It is so soothing. I find consuming caffeine, sugar and alcohol increase redness for me, as Kitty pointed out..sugar was a surprise for me. (Caffeine topically does my skin good and reduces puffy eyes). Drinking Green Tea and making a cool green tea rinse helps sooth and reduce bacteria and inflammation. In a hurry, I still use an aloe based, alcohol free toner because time for honey isn't always there. Washing with cooler water should also help. I agree with Kitty about fragrance as well. Try to steer clear of moisturizer that is scented. I like Thayers Toner and Mario Badescu Seaweed Lotion. Thayers should be available at most chains and drugstores. You might also look into a moisturizing product that targets redness. I've been looking into Eurcerin. I've not tried this yet, but I'm fond of the product line, as is my derm.

Clinique also makes a redness relief product. Using a green primer if you have redness all over or color corrector if you have target areas, such as around the nose really helps a lot. I mostly get hormonal redness center face, but have you consulted a derm to rule out Rosacea or any other skin issues? I have tp watch overspray from hairsprays/products and perfume as I run sensitive. My favorite cleanser is CeraVe..very gentle.
