If you mean your pores appear larger or more visible it's probably because there is dirt stuck in them - but Hun your pores are always open 24/7 even if they don't appear to be "open" they always are - if they were "closed" then no moisturizer or products would be able to penetrate the skin... With that said if your pores are dirty then deep cleaning is the answer - you can do this a couple different ways - I personally use chemical exfoliants to get into the pores to clean them out - I like Paula's choice BHA exfoliant and/or I also use the glycolic acid cleanser by Mario badescu as an AHA as well - another option is oil cleansing and it works especially well for oily skin types IMO - I have combo/oily sensitive acne prone skin and my mix consists of the Dior cleansing oil, castor oil, jojoba oil and a few drops of tea tree oil - you can find a premade mix or make your own from scratch but if you make your own make sure it has emollients to lift the oils off the skin when you add your steam - otherwise it could just sit on the skin or get absorbed (which isn't bad but may not produce the effect you want of cleaning the pores) I find this method works great to cling to the dirt n oil already on the face and bring it with it when it gets steamed off (I usually just soak a towel with hot water and press it on my face since I don't have a steamer) but that's how I deep clean my pores when they are dirty - hope that helps :)

@Diana T. Where can you find the premade mix at?

You would just look for cleansing oil when you shop - like I just mentioned the Dior cleansing oil - there are a bunch of different ones out there nowadays.

When I see my pores opening up I use my nutregena pore refining toner. N I also use Loreals pore vanisher. I love these products. they're affordable n last a long time.

Sabrina I don't know if Burt's bees has one - if they do you could probably search on their company website to see if they do - otherwise just google "cleansing oil" and you can see a bunch of different ones

Diana, what about clay? would it work in her case too? I'm thinking about queen helene mint julep clay.

Yeah I'm sure any mask would helpful too - but sometimes they can be over drying - so I personally only use sulfur masks like once in a blue moon or when I have a really bad breakout to dry out my pimples
