My shade in this foundation is y425. I like the match but in MAC I am a NC42 I feel like it is a tad bit too dark. What would my true MAC shade be?

That's kind of difficult since that particular shade is newer.
Perhaps it's the particular foundation you're using in MAC?
I know some of their stuff isn't very consistent in shades.
I'm generally an NC30 but with some foundations I'm an NC25 (lighter on the scale) or NC35 (darker on their scale)
But it works for my NC30 color.
I think you could be around an NC40 which is just a shade lighter

Its the studio fix fluid foundation. The girl first applied nc42 longwear & that was way too yellow so youre right I guess my shade does vary.
