I have oily skin. so I've heard antibacterial soap helps with acne because it gets rid of bacteria. I've heard it will dry you out but honestly, that might be good for me. my face is oily. have any of you tried this and your acne has gotten better? more controlled? I'm having really bad breakouts on my forehead and left cheek right now.

Personally I wouldn't do that, drying out your skin isn't the answer to oily skin. What's your skincare routine and what products are you using?

Not well enough if you're looking for something else to control your oils, lol. If your skin hasn't changed or gotten worse since you started using that system then it's not the product for you. I have/had oily skin as well and I have much more normal skin since I found skincare products that really work for my skin so I suggest checking out other skincare products rather than resorting to hand soap. Personally I use the Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash with my Clarisonic (which is really what changed my skin for the better) and I follow with No7 Beautiful Skin Toner in Normal/Oily and No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream in Normal/Oily in the morning and No7 Beautiful Skin Night Cream in Normal/Oily at night (:

Green tea, Tra Tree Oil and Evening Primrose oil also fight bacteria naturally. You can drink Green tea/make a face rinse to splash on to soothe...use a tea tree infused face wash, such as The Body Shops and moisturize with evening primrose in conjunction with something gentle like CeraVe or Cetaphil. All are great ways to address bacteria. Smashbox has a Salicylic based primer which has glowing reviews..something you might want to get a sample of. I'd use all cotton pillowcases and pull my hair away from my face while relaxing to reduce chances of abrasive acne or transfer of oils/hair product irritation. If you aren't using one, I think an aloe-based, alcohol free toner right now might help. Thayers is available at most stores.
