Hey everyone, I've been using the Skinmedica TNS Essential serum for 6 months and love it, but I need to find a more budget friendly option (ie under $75 or so). My main concerns are anti-aging as I'm 34 (fine lines, skin not as firm as it used to be, dryness, etc). Prefer no retinol as I have a rx for Retin A and for some reason Vitamin C doesn't cause any impact to my skin. My skin is very resilient and not sensitive to products at all (kinda the opposite of sensitive skin as I feel must products do absolutely nothing). Need something very effective. Any one use any good serums that gave results? Thank you!!

What C product are you using? You'll want to look for one where ascorbic acid is the active ingredient. C is a powerful antioxidant that promotes cell communication and so I think it's incredibly important. I use Retinoid by script and find that C, my Omega 3's and a physical broad spectrum sunscreen in conjunction with moisturizers that have cerimides, peptides and glycerin to be highly effective. For my eyes, Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream is great for keeping the area hydrated. CeraVe also has some skin renewing moisturizers that are very budget friendly. AHA or BHA products work well with Retin A when used correctly, but I'm not sure of a more budget friendly option for those would be. It would be interesting to hear other members' suggestions and what they find effective on a budget. I like Peter Thomas Roth and Dr. Brandt, but I just picked up Olay's Pro X Anti-aging Nightly Purifying Microdelivery at my Estie ' s recommendation. I got it at Target for about $40 and I've already seen and felt a change in my skin's texture. It just feels like it's boosting my other products' effectiveness.
You can find more info about it here

There's also a great article on using AHA or BHA with Retinoids here

Hope that helps!

Sorry I know this doesn't answer your question but just want to know who did you see to get the rx Retin A. I'll be in my 30's soon and I want to get that.

Mari, I get mine from my derm for medicinal reasons, with anti-aging as a bonus. You can find effective Retinol in RoC Deep Wrinkle at the drugstore or Dr. Brandt's Ruby Glow Trial Kit, which lasts forever since you need so little.

I use Monsia Intense Night Repair Cream but I add a couple of drops of Vit E oil and Jojoba oil to the cream before applying it on my neck and around my eyes. I am finding that it is keeping my neck nice and smooth and I haven't noticed any additional lines around my eyes thank goodness.
