So "The Little Black Dress" is often said to be an item that every woman must own but I've never seen them discussed much around Beautylish.
I very recently bought a new LBD that I think really flatters my figure and I know I'll get plenty of use out of. That got me thinking, I'd love to know what you guys think of the LBD.
Questions:
- What does your favourite LBD look like?
- If you were buying a LBD what do you tend to look for?
- How do you wear your LBD? Shoes? Jewellery? Etc...
- When wearing a LBD how do you do your makeup and/ or hair?
- Do you still think the LBD deserves it's status as "the ultimate staple item"?

What do I look for: A classic shape that won't date but with some interesting details. I don't mind spending a lot on an item like this.
How do I wear it: I keep it simple: black shoes, clutch bag and very simple jewellery, nothing too busy. I also own a few black jersey dresses that I wear with boots, tights and layer with jumpers or statement necklaces for a more casual look.
Hair and Makeup: For a casual look I wear my hair straight and keep my makeup very light and natural. However, for an evening I'm a sucker for curled hair and a red lip, sometimes even a dark plum lip which looks really fab!
ultimate staple item? yes! They're so versatile! And if you have the right one it will last you years!

Great questions Rebecca! I LBD is really a must have I feel! I saves me again and again when I don't know what to wear!
I have 3 go to LBD's that fits diffrent occations :)
1 - Is a black wrap dress - Super comfy and can be used for anything from a family event to a night out!
2 - Is a "straight" dress with a wrap detail around the chest. Is a litte low cut and is more used for going out or big parties!
3 - Is a skate type dress with lace details and a almost completely bare back - which I use to go out in.
In a LBD I tend to look for a dress that really suit my body type and show of my waist. I also like to find some that are really comfortable to wear but still looks amazing!
See what I love about a LBD is that I can change the style completely to my mood! I can go full out glam with a smokey eye and red pumps or I can go soft and girly with a nude heel and a soft makeup look! I looove when its my makeup thats the statement and not the dress!
And yes! A LBD is the ultimate staple item in my oppinion - becaus its such a versital item and its what I grab for when I just wanna look amazing without having ti think to much about it :)
