Valentines day is about love, not mere dating. Let's celebrate the love in our lives! Not just boyfriends but our love for ourselves, maybe even a rekindled love of previously neglected hair, or pet, kids, etc. wherever you find love in your life :). If your single, Have a fab night for yourself complete with gifts, or make something delicious and use the good china, light candles, scented bubble bath. Go to a beauty salon or spa and treat yourself to some tlc., if your in a family spread the love to everyone including pets, etc. how do you plan to share the love??!?

Thank you for posting this Loren. My husband and I really don't pay any attention to this non-federal holiday because we believe that we don't need a special day to recognize our love for eachother. I have class Thursday night so I know that the hub and kids are going to go visit our church's shut-in's (elderly) and my two eldest kids are making special Valentine's cookies & cards for those they visit with. I'll be sitting in class learning about the China's economy pre and post Mao.lol.

Stephany V. that is so sweet. A lot of my single friends are hiding out at home and having pity party's. Having a better half is nice but it sure isnt lovey dovey 24/7. Sometimes I could strangle my hubby...being single definitely has its benefits. :)

I love what all of you do for Valentine's Day!
My boyfriend thinks Valentine's Day is pretty bogus, but we spend it together anyway. We watch the Evil Dead Trilogy since he showed me the third movie, Army of Darkness for the first time on Valentine's Day. And he loved fine dining so we use it as an excuse to spend a half month's rent on duck and scallops (and whatever else we want) hahaha
I did love spending it with my girl (and dude) friends in the past though! We'd always make fancy cocktails and dress up pretty and create little gifts and cards for each other while eating tons of sweets! It was always fun to do that =)
Oh a separate note, I went to the drug sore today to buy sympathy cards since we had a death in the family, and the lady who was ringing me up looked down at all of my cards, back at me, then said "JUST THESE? I've only see people buy Valentines lately. So, no Valentine's cards or chocolates!?" Besides the fact that I make my valentines myself, I thought it was a little ridiculous...

Its no freakin' wonder people get depressed over the 14th! Cashiers ringing you up assuming you should have some VDay stuff in the mix...shame on those cashiers for giving people complexes. :/
