Do heat protection sprays really work?

I've been using a few different ones, and I'm not sure if they really stop me from getting split ends? What types have you tried?

I use chi iron guard 44, and until I went to cosmetology school, I never used them, I never realized how much they mattered. Trust me, you will regret it if you don't use them religiously.
