I dont think you have to. Just like you dont have to match your purse or shoes to your dress. As long as you think it looks good with what your wearing, that's all that matters. =)

The only time I do any sort of makeup clothe matching is if I am wearing an outfit with red in it and I am in a lipstick mood I will go with my red lipstick over my pink, otherwise I don't.

I usually do a neutral eye and if I want a pop of color, I will find a color that isn't really used and use it to make it pop even more!

That's exactly how I feel and I want them to both stand out and pop cuz I feel that if I match it it looks blah and it looks sorta plain

I do that sometimes I usually try to do my makeup first and then decide my clothes later but if I have nothing that matches my makeup then it does match

I match casual type clothes with casual makeup...but don't match the colors or anything really...for example if I am wearing a t shirt and jeans I am not going to go with a crazy dramatic eye because it just looks...conflicted to me.

Well you dont have to match and never should BUT you have to make sure ur makeup complements your wardrobe. For example tou dont want to be wearing sweatpants with a smokey eye or red lips. Or if your wearing some bright fushia you dont want to wear orange lipstick and blue eyeshadow

I used to be totally guilty of that. I'd paint my nails every night to match my outfit the next day too.
I will keep my outfit in mind when doing my makeup still but I don't always make it match anymore.

I do, absolutely. If I wear green I'll do green eye makeup, or purple, pink.... I'm all about it a lot of the time. I think it looks badass! Who cares whether it makes you look a little "matchy-matchy". Or I'll just incorporate bits of colour from my outfit into my makeup look, but generally it's in the eyes. Oh but sometimes if I'm wearing a bright pink shirt I will match my lipstick!
