Old favorite!

This shade is really "my lips but better" IMO. Its not the perfect lighter colored nude lip (STILL on the hunt for that), but for natural lips, its the perfect lipstick. I used this as a young teen and have since de-potted the sad remainder into a plastic film receptacle- they are great for storing little bits and bobs (hair-ties, etc.) I do have plenty of product left, and will be fine to use with a good lip brush, thankfully. Looking back as a makeup obsessed addict now, I realized that the makeup I was into then was actually flattering for my skin tone- using creamy, frosty eye shadow pencil/sticks to rim my eyes in a pretty way, or using golds and bronzes on my green/blue eyes- go figure! (My foundation fears, and total lack thereof, even with full on smokey eyes- Not so much) Lipstick wise, If any one has read my other goofy reviews about this lipstick line, Rose Velvet does not disappoint. Its smooth, creamy and opaque, with a satin finish, me thinks. The color is slightly unique but certainly wearable. Its a rosey, dusky, deep pink, with yellow/neutral undertones, yet also cooler and mauvey. To glam it up, just swipe on some gloss for a girly, modern take, or wear as is- it gives a soft, romantic vibe to any look. I love pairing it with lavenders and especially rosey colors on the cheeks and eyes for a truly flattering and darling monochromatic look. I might even use it as a cheek base, with some mauvey blush over it to accentuate and set the color. I feel very English rose when wearing it, Its understated but enough different to remark on one's pout. So here's cheers to an old standby!
