All Eyelash Curlers Are Not Created Equal
I own Shu Uemura's, Kevyn Aucoin's, and now Billy B.'s lash curler. The triumvirate is now complete. I like each of these eyelash curlers for different reasons, and Billy B.'s is no exception. With this curler it is very easy to get a nice and consistent curl with minimal effort. I actually tried to pinch myself with this curler, and no matter what I did to try and pinch my lid, it was impossible to do. I have used this curler on individuals with very long and hard to curl lashes and I have gotten beautiful results time and time again. I highly recommend this curler...It's the best $15 you will ever spend.
Magic. It has to be magic.
I don't get it. It is literally impossible to pinch your lid with this thing. I like....tried. It is incredible. Gets right to the lash line, doesn't leave out the baby lashes at the corners of your eyes, and gives a beautiful curl. And it's like, an actual curl. Not some weird kink in your lash that makes your mascara look funny. A genuine, pretty fanned-out curl. It's worth the price tag. Love.
Poorly Designed - Flimsy and doesn't reach the roots of my lashes
After reading the glowing reviews of this product, I was very happy to receive my order of the Billy B Beauty Eyelash Curler. So I'm very sorry to say that boy, it's been a huge disappointment.
Upon first taking the curler in my hands, my first reaction was to be surprised at how flimsy it felt. The parts feel like they are not sturdily held together and can fall apart at any time. But I thought I could bypass that as long as it did what it was supposed to do - curl my lashes.
It didn't do that either, at least not very well. This seems to be due to its design, which for some reason makes it impossible to hold the curler up to (or close to) the roots of my lashes. It made me wonder for a second if my eyes are sunken in more than the average person - but I've never had this problem with other curlers in the past (my last one was from Tweezerman), so I don't really want to blame myself for this one.
I would return it if I didn't have to pay the shipping fee myself. Overall, this was the one disappointment in my first order from Beautylish.
I recently wrote a negative review on this curler after experiencing problems with the pad, however due to the curler being defective, it wasn't a fair review, so please disregard my last review. :)
I have recieved my non-defective Billy B curler in the mail a couple weeks ago, and wow! I love this curler! It makes my lashes look so perky, and I love how it instantly opens up my eye to make me look more awake. :)
However, I knocked off a star because I feel that Billy B really should have included another pad, considering how exclusive the pad is (I have tried putting in my Shiseido and Shu Uemura extra pads in the Billy B curler, and neither of them would fit).
Only lash curler that curls my straight lashes!
I bought this because I needed a new Eyelash Curler and the reviews sounded great. My lashes are really long but stick straight out, even if I curl them they either don't curl at all, or lose the curl right away. I was so surprised when I used this and found my lashes curled perfectly with this. They did fall a little throughout the day but honestly that's 10 times better than any other lash curler I've tried has done.
Just a perfect curler. I have deep-set eyes with small lids and it can be very hard to get the curler in close, so it was amazing to use this the first time and have it just go straight to the root with no fighting. Even more amazing was that it was impossible to pinch, crimp, or pull lashes- I actually tried for a while, and somehow, this curler just does not ever grab the wrong way. You can walk it out the lash with no tugging or snagging and get a perfect, smooth, crimp-free curl every time. I do wish that it came with a replacement pad, but you actually don't have to squeeze hard at all with this curler, so it seems like the pad will last a really long time.
Love it, but why no extra pad?!
First of all, I love this eyelash curler. I purchased it specifically for my kit. I was going to buy a Kevin Aucoin one, but decided to try this one. It is comfortable in the hand, opens and closes easily, the pad is more flexible than those you would buy from say a drugstore. I like that about it. It doesn't pinch the lashes or yank any out...which is a great thing. It is the same type of metal that the standard eyelash curlers are made of. It is branded made in Korea, so if that is of value to you then, there you have it. Overall, I think it is worth $15. It's Billy B and we all know he is a genius. I wish they would have at least included 1 replacement pad for the item though. That's the only reason I knocked off half a star.
I have had this curler since before Billy B introduced it a few years ago. I was an addict to the Shu Uemura curler at that time (which I still love for certain eye shapes and sizes) when Billy and I were traveling together on The Powder Groups American Beauty Tour and he showed me the curler. I could not believe how easily it fit onto everyones eye and how effortlessly it lent itself to curl without crimping. I am a huge fan and carry one with me to every job. I am so happy to have them available once again.
