Beauty Product Reviews

I really wanted to love this

I usually use Lancome Teint Idole 24H foundation which, for the record, I love! I have combination/oily and get occasional blemishes here and there. No big deal right?

When I first used the Born This Way, I absolutely loved the coverage and how light it felt on my face, I had to get used to the dewy look it left on my face since I'm used to Lancome's matte finish. Other than that no complaints. Keep in mind I have not change any products that I put on my skin other than the foundation.

Not even 2 weeks later, I experienced the worse break ever in my life, so bad that even my friends and coworkers were pointing it out, I had a mixture of tiny congestion bumps and massive bumps that were cystic-like. I was so depressed and insecure about my face and I work in a cosmetics environment where image is the first impressions.

The minute I had that nasty break out, I switched back to my Lancome foundation and my skin has finally calmed down. I am so shocked that my face could even get that bad.

Just as I say to my clients, if your acne prone, I do not recommend this foundation. One positive thing I will say is the coverage is amazing and during the first week of using it, I loved it so much. The break outs were the deal breaker for me.

I use this everyday, but if I do not set it with a powder it usually smudges and gets under my eyes giving me the raccoon look. I've had it for a couple months now and still have plenty left, but it gets annoying having to sharpen it when it gets dull. I'm going to get the fluid line next time I'm at the store.. :/

I bought one of these years ago and at first I was a bit shaky when applying since I was used to using pencil versus a brush, but after a few tries I had no problem with applying it, even if I was pressed for time. After I ran out, I was getting a bit cheap with my liner thinking that it was not needed, but come to think of it, some things are meant to be splurged on and this is by far one of the products that is needed. Next trip to the MAC store I'm getting this!! It's long overdue!

Espresso is a versatile and highly pigmented product! I use it in my crease or for a subtle smokey eye look. It's easy to work with and blends well with neutrals which I use most of the time. I will continue to buy this when I run out!!!

My pencil eyeliner used to smudge and get under my eyes, especially when it's hotter outside, but now i layer on Shadowy Lady and it sets my liner, while also giving it a lighter purple tone without it looking black and harsh. When I purchased the shadow, it came in the snow globe xmas palette with 7 other colors, but I pretty much only use that one since I like using matte shadows more. I for sure will purchase a pan refill for my custom palette!! This a color I will always keep in stock for my make up collection!!

I just bought this color yesterday and being that I'm just starting to experiment with different colors, I honestly never would have thought to use it as a highlight. Usually my everyday brow highlight would be Gesso, but I wanted to try something new and for sure I'm not disappointed! I was under the impression that it's better to use shimmery colors more on the lid, but I think I like this look better on the brow vs a matte white.

I use this almost everyday as a highlight underneath my brow, its super pigmented. I've had this shadow for a few months and I still have enough to last me a couple more!

This is a great basic shadow for a simple everyday look or incorporated with darker shadows for a more dramatic effect. It's highly pigmented and because you don't have to use so much it lasts a really long time. Plus buying the refill pan for a custom palette is cheaper than to get the individual pots!

Love Love Love!!

I always have to have shiny lips so I'm basically putting on lipgloss on a daily basis. When I bought this, I was just planning on using it before I put on my lipstick and gloss. It adds that shine that I like and now I find myself skipping my lipgloss routine altogether!! Plus it doesn't have the usual sweet, fruity smell that most balm/glosses usually have, instead it smells of fresh roses. For it being no more than $6, I see myself saving more money compared to the $15 glosses I usually get. Definitely a must have in my book!!

Disappointed :/

I read a lot of good reviews about this stuff so when I bought it I had high expectations, but sadly it was not the case for me. I'll admit that it did cover the dark circles under my eyes to make me look more awake, but it left creases not long after I applied it. I don't really use it to cover up blemishes because it's a little too light for my skin. I feel like it's a total waste of my money so I would probably never buy this again.
