Beauty Product Reviews

Pigmented, pretty and inexpensive. And this duochrome is beautiful!

I really like these shadows, I find them pretty pigmented and I've experienced very little fallout so far (better to tap off the excess before applying). I especially love "C'mon Chameleon!" because it's a beautiful brown-green duochrome shadow (in the photo doesn't show properly) that I've heard it's a "perfect" dupe for Mac's "Club". It stole my heart as I first discovered it. I also own another couple of these ("Don't Lie, Lac", which I also love, and a teal one I don't find on the list) and they are really good as well. For the price I think they're very nice, maybe a little more quality than Essence for as far as I could see. Needless to say I love their names ;)

A bit cakey, definitely not exciting.

I've used this for quite some time and it worked pretty well back then, but I realized on my skin was looking a bit too cakey - that's why now I'm using a liquid concealer instead. I've never used the green (only a few times just to try it), way more the other two, especially the beige one. I find they work better with pimples or to define the eyebrows, but I don't like it very much for my undereye area. Anyway, I stopped using it, I think there are better and still inexpensive alternatives to this.

Good coverage, pretty long lasting, nice price.

I got a bunch of shades of this nail polish collection and I can say I've really enjoyed them so far, even if differently. I find they have pretty good coverage (with some shades you don't even need a second coat) and are pretty long lasting too, in fact I've got "Polish Me Happy" on right now for the 5th day today and there's just a tiny chipping on the thumb (two coats of it + base and top) and another time, months ago, with another shade on I found it lasted up to almost 2 weeks and only got chipped a little on the tips (only one coat of it + no base or top). The price is pretty good too, indeed. One thing I've noticed - but it could just be me - is that apparently the shades of matte blue seem to be more covering, I don't know why, they've a different formula perhaps? Anyway, I like them.

Great product, not the brand (for me).

This was my very first gel eyeliner and it works really well! It stays put all day, even on the waterline, it doesn't smudge and is easy to use. The finish is a little less glossy than the Essence gel eyeliner and more charcoal-ish, yet it's very black and not grey-ish. Moreover, while the Essence one is more fluid-ish, this feels thicker and makes it easier to apply.

The only reason I'll never buy this product again is that Maybelline is owned by L'Oreal which is included in the animal testing black-list, but apart from this issue (which is important to me) I'll be honest and I'll say it really is a great product. I kept the little brush anyway, because I dind't feel like throwing it away and it's really a nice brush, I use it regularly to apply eyeliner on the waterline.

So, overall a good purchase I guess, if you're looking for a not expensive yet quality gel eyeliner. Perfect if you're looking for a true black eyeliner with a more opaque and less glossy finish.

Love the tip and glossy finish, but definitely not "extra long-lasting".

A very pretty cheap eyeliner pen. What I really love the most of this eyeliner is the tip: it's really easy to use and get a perfect line with, the formula goes on really smoothly and the finish is so glossy, I love it! The only thing I dislike is that it doesn't last very much on the lid, a little drop of water is enough to remove part of it. I wish it was more waterproof, 'cause it really is a nice product, even better than the waterproof one of the same brand (which has not a tip as good as this, imho).

The black one is the best on the waterline!

A great product for the little price, I use it on the waterline 'cause it's the only thing that really stays put! And when they say it's waterproof, it really is: in fact everytime I get the wrong shape or go too dramatic and have to take it all off, it's a big mess, lol! It's great to wear at concerts, you can dance and sweat and it'll never come off the lid.

I LOVE the black one, it's really pigmented and need just a tiny amount for extra blackness, but I purchased the other three colours as well. The only note is that I wish they were more vibrant, especially the purple and green ones which are a bit darker than expected and don't look as pigmented on the waterline. Anyway they're really nice on the lid, they go on very smoothly and stay really buttery on the jar.

Definitely better than expected, it was a really nice surprise.

Little price, nicely pigmented shadows, inconvenient packaging, useless brush.

My current go-to eyebrow kit. Even if I'm planning on purchasing some more quality stuff, for now I stick to cheaper stuff since I'm just a student, and this works quite good to suit my needs. It's not really great quality, but I found a few tricks that help me get it to work for me.

The shadows are pretty pigmented and the colours are perfect for my eyebrows, so they go very well on them. However I find that the pigmentation shows better on the hair than on plain skin (that's what you see when swatching the product on your hand, it doesn't look so flattering). That's why I prefer to mix them with a mixing solution - this also helps getting a sharper line for the tail of the brow.

The packaging is not the most convenient one, since it's a small oval box you have to open in two and the shadows are placed on another plastic piece you have to take out of the box... so yeah, it's totally inconvenient and looks also a little poor. The little tiny brush is also not great quality, in fact I've never used it. The three stencils are fun and I used to use them when the ending part of my brows was missing and I needed to sketch the shape and draw it in; other that this, I've never really used them.

In brief: this kit is nice, even if the packaging isn't exciting. It comes with very little price and works well, in fact I use it everytime I have to shape and fill my eyebrows in. I don't know if this is really "average" quality, but I feel like giving three stars.
