Spiced Brandy

Spiced Brandy is a warm deep red (kind of burgundy) with golden pearl, not too bright, not too dark, a very elegant shade, perfect for Fall and Winter evenings. It’s a warm-like color that lights up the face instantly, the shimmer in it is not overpowering, just the right amount to brighten the lips in avery classy way. The formula of this lipstick, like in all of the Super Lustrous range, is really moisturising, creamy and it feels very nice when wearing it, very easy and confortable. It is highly pigmented and has a quite good staying power.

Cherries in the snow

‘Cherries in the snow’ is a legendary lipstick from Revlon, this shade goes back decades and decades ago and it has all the fashion and glamour of the old Hollywood. And i still can’t understand how it took me so long to decide myself to get my own. But now i can say that it was love at first sight (or pout). This shade is a perfect raspberry, deep pink red, not too pink and not too red, it has the right equilibrium between the two of the colors. It might look like pretty bold at first but it is actually quite wearable. The formula is really moisturising, creamy and it feels very nice when you wear it, easy and confortable. It is highly pigmented and gives the lips a gorgeous glossy color that makes you feel instantly retro and glamorous. And then Revlon prices are always so reasonable. So i can’t fin any flaw in this lipstick at all. It’s a must-have pleasure.

Nice but a little bit too strong

This is probably the most controversial mascara in recent times, from what I’ve read around you either love it or hate it. I am not that extreme, i don’t ‘love’ it but I like it a lot, it does everything it says in the bottle (or the cardboard in this case). With just one layer, it gives you long straight eyelashes and it separates, extends and lifts them immediately. Besides it’s a real black, a real jet black so it highlights the eyelashes perfectly. With a couple of layers and a bit of work is my perfect mascara to wear with black eyeliner and red lips. Removing it is a bit complicated, you almost need an industrial paint stripper for that, it is true that it stays on all day and doesn’t leave you with those annoying blackish particles around the eyes, but in order to achieve that they had to make this a little bit too strong mascara because even using different eye makeup removers for waterproof mascaras it takes a lot of effort and rubbing, my eyes end with a bit of irritation and the next day when I wake up I still have some remains of it over my eyelids. With that in mind, i wouldn’t recommend it for a daily use , although the effects are really attractive (and addictive, it really looks nice on) but unfortunately I do not think that the health of my eyes would allow that. But i do not deprive myself of wearing it once or twice a week.

Hervana, I love you

Love, love, love. I was well worth the money. This coral pink looks absolutely gorgeous on, so fresh, it brings a really nice light to the face straight away. I can see myself wearing it every single day of the Spring, well, i’m already wearing it everyday! And the staying power is very good so this is a 10 out 0f 10 for me.

Useless Invention

I didn’t like it at all, it’s not just that this brush is so small that it takes ages to apply it to all eyelashes, but it is also painful, yes painful, the brush has the hardest bristles that I have ever found in a mascara and every time you touch the eyelid with it, or rather the part of the eyelid where the eyelashes root, it hurts, it’s like an hedgehog and not just by the look of it and as the process is so long, the whole thing becomes a little bit of a torture … and once you have passed the ordeal of punctures and after a long while having to go just lash by lash, the result is not anything great, but just something any average mascara would achieve. The only good thing about it is that yes, it is true that it reaches to all eyelashes (after irritating the eyelids of course) so the only use I see in it is for retouching or for an extra finishing touch after using another mascara and frankly just for that use and for that price, it is not worth at all. Givenchy has a lot of products (I especially like their powders and lipsticks) in which the money is well spent, but this Phenomen’eyes thing is a real bluff.

Pure Velvet!

This is absolutely worth its price, actually its price is the only low note i find in this product, for 46€ you’d better make sure you are gonna make a good use of this and that you get the right shade. This powder is amazing, it melts with the skin leaving a wonderful velvety feeling to it, never patchy or thick, very smooth but so effective that gives you a beautiful skin even just using just the powder by itself, in the photos i’m wearing it without foundation, just my usual oil free moisturizer and a normal concealer under the eyes and the coverage is perfect. Another great thing is that the application sponge that comes with it is fantastic, very soft and provides a great coverage with a minimum amount of product (which is a key factor considering the price). When purchasing this, it is very important to get advice from the Givenchy staff in the counter about the right shade for your skin tone. If it wasn’t for that i would have gone straight away to get ’01 Light pastel’, apparently the fairest shade, but the nice Givenchy lady advised me well and gave me 03, as it seems than more than being more or less pale the main thing is your skin undertone/s. And she got it absolutely right as 03 is perfect for me, it improves my skin tone not only with a velvet feeling but also with a warm glow. A match made in heaven!

Oh Mama! You're Sexy and Great!

Oh The Balm! I love you! You keep making my day every time i have the pleasure to enjoy one of your gorgeously packaged products! Just look at that! Isn’t it just the perfect mix of retro, sexy and cute? This anti-shine translucent powder is described by the brand as the way to “powder your face without a trace, this sexy formula with revolutionary, tiny, oil-absorbing spheres removes dreaded shine leaving you with a soft matte finish. Sexy Mama has powers like no other powder, it’s virtually invisible, fooling even the most attentive admirer!” And oh Mama, it does work nicely! It provides a matte complexion, very smoothly and without being cakey at all. It erases all the shine immediately and for quite a long time, nice staying power, i use it over UNE’s BB Cream Foundation (it’s not a foundation per se but it’s all my skin can take without further consequences) and it gives a beautiful finish and adds some nice glow (it contains some small sparkly particles) while allowing the skin to breathe (no talc in this). Sexy Mama looks lovely and it feels even better: Another hit by The Balm.

If you need a basic natural palette, This is it!

Oooooohhhhh! Too Faced! What I can say?I love everything made by this brand! The beautiful packaging so lovingly and carefully full of details, the wonderful eyeshadows and shades all individualized with such names that it is impossible not to read them and smile. Natural Eye contains nine eyeshadows split into three different looks that range from very natural to more sophisticated, each one of them with three shades: base, lid and liner. The three looks are explained in a set of cards, one for each, that can be found inside the upper part of the box. Each one of the cards includes a drawing showing how to apply the colors to achieve the look: Look Day: Heaven (creamy white), Velvet Revolver (taupe) and Sexpresso (dark chocolate brown). All three are matte. Look Classic: Silk Teddy (pale pink), Push up (copper) and Erotica (grayish with golden sparkle). All three are shimmer. Look Fashion: Nude Beach (a darker pale pink than Silk Teddy with a little glitter), Honey Pot (antique golden) and Cocoa Puff (chocolate brown with golden sparkle). All three are shimmer. There's a little drawer at the bottom of the box where there’s a double-ended applicator with foam in one side and a brush in the other. A highly useful palette and a visual delight.
