Oh Nicki, Nicki, Nicki....
The one thing (it really is one thing) I do like about Nicki Minaj is her Devil May Care attitude when it comes to her look! I mean, it does take a certain kind of woman to wear STACKED lashes. Naturally Beauty giants took notice and soon MAC had its own lipstick creation that embodied true Nicki style.
Pros: If you love colour that's the first thing you'll be attracted to. This lipstick is FIERCELY pink and not for the faint of heart! If you can rock it (or at least have the personality to rock it) go for it!!
Cons: The same reason that makes this lipstick wonderful is its equivalent drawback: MAC almost made it too much like Nicki. The colour is borderline flourescent which puts darker skin tones and thicker lips right in the 'Clown Mouth' zone. The finish is also matte which like me, is not cool because you'd just rather not see EVERY fine line on your lips amplified with almost-flourescent pink.
Tip: What you can do is gently pat Nicki's lipstick on your lips and use a complimentary pink lipgloss and brown liner (I use Iman's perfect liner in Spice) to make a lovely rose pink neutral colour.
Overall? : If you love bright matte lipsticks this is your colour; if not, you can skip out or find ways to tone it down and make it work for you. Whatever you like is cool, just use at your own risk.

Milling about inside the Eaton Centre on a brilliant Saturday afternoon I was lured into MAC when they had a Hey Sailor! party. Clad in stripes and bikinis (or stripped bikinis), they had a full display of their newest collection and a huge lineup for makeovers, fake pinup tattoos (painted on with MAC products of course!) and new Sailor purchases.
I really had no intention of buying anything...honest!
I walked up to the Red Pacer sample, a very pretty but innocuous looking red that wouldn't suit me because I'm a crimson type of girl when it comes to my reds. 'After all' I thought, 'it's too cherry for me; won't look good.' But still I tried it on and WOW.
The lipstick has a creme finish which is heaven for those who aren't a fan of matte finishes and has a bit of a shine to it (yet it welcomes the little swipe of matching gloss that makes the colour explode). Like all MAC colours it is brilliant, Brilliant! While unfortunately that will have to be my last purchase for now (with university and all), it is well worth hoarding for that power job interview and the 3rd date!
Over all verdict? Hey Sailor! Lookin' good in that Red Pacer ;)
