When you hear of matte lip stains you automatically imagine your lips dried out in a short time, right? I love red lips but when it comes to wear it out, it can be a pain. You can't enjoy your drink or dinner without worrying about your lipstick or lip stain staying in place. As my first matte lip stain I was excited to try it out and see how it works for my extremely flaky lips. Of course the first steps you want to do are exfoliating your lips and put some balm on to smooth them, after 10-20 min wipe the balm away and put on the stain. For a natural tint use a light hand, for bold lips two or three coats is enough. You will notice the peppermint taste and smell which keeps your lips cooled, especially if you have irritated or inflamed lips. I checked my lips every 30 min and they always seemed to look great, after wearing it almost all day I kind of couldn't believe that my lips didn't dry out. I asked myself why? Was it the peppermint scents or maybe the wax texture that made it so smooth? I checked out some pages and find out that Tarte's LipSurgence technology absorbs into your skin to deliever a surge of moisture on a cellular level, while boosting peptides to stimulate skin's own regenerative system and assist in the formation of collagen. Wow, I know!

It contains vitamins A & E, coconut extract and peppermint oil. The packaging is pretty and sturdy, no need for a sharpener, no animal testing, synthetic dy free, parben free, phthalate free, sodium lauryl sulfate free, synthetic fragrance free. Although an amazing product I would recommend to everybody!

My favourite red

This stuff is killer! Such a lush, deep, velvety red. My lips are always on the dry side and every other matte lip product I've tried has looked awful aside from this one. I don't find it to be moisturizing but it's definitely not drying, either. Just a great lip colour that lasts for hours!

Favorite "lipstick

One of my favorite youtubers swears by this product, so I decided to try it out, and I am SO glad I did. I love the color it provides, and that it's matte! It lasts for a long time, and I don't need to apply often. It's minty, and it leaves my lips feeling moisturized without the actual "glossy" feel. I definitely recommend using a lip scrub or something for chapped lips beforehand though.

The one that converted me to lip pencils.

These are gorgeous lip pencils. They go on very smooth and have excellent pigmentation. The peppermint oil in them gives it a nice tingle, but not too strong, and a delicious smell. The colors lasts a very long time as it almost stains your lips.

These are a matte product so if you do not have smooth, moisturized lips they will look terrible. I suggest lightly exfoliating your lips and applying a lip balm before applying.

It's ok

The color looks pretty in the tube, but I don't love it on my face. It makes my lips look super dry, and I almost look dead. I recommend a different color than the one I had

Gotta Have'em All

It all started with getting Lucky..and then I had to have the rest! I am very impressed with the natural formulation and pigmentation of these lip tints--they glide on effortlessly! I also noticed that while using these and even after, my lips feel very moisturized, which is fantastic for a matte finish! I love these matte ones because I can wear them as is or dab some gloss over'em to make'em shiny and/or sparkly. As with any lip product, you just have to be sure to prep your lips well before applying.

Best matte lipcolor

I have yet to find a matte lip color that I adore for everyday as much as hope. It has wonderful pigmentation and the color is just pink enough to make my lips pop with a rosy pink color without looking too overdone. The color stays on for hours and the minty scent is amazing! I always stick with tarte matte lip stains when it comes to lip color, there is just nothing else I tried that has compared.

Lovely color

I received the shade "lucky" in a Birchbox a few months ago, and at first glance, I was afraid to try it, because I normally don't wear bright pink or matte shades. It goes on more smoothly then I thought it would, and the color is surprisingly not super bright and scary. The only thing that I didn't like about it, was that it wears off to fast and after a while, due to the bright color I guess, it makes your lips look kinda chalky.

Worth it.

Lip colors in general make me nervous because there is so much reapplying involved and not to mention the mess if you don't line your lips well or if you smack your lips often. This tint takes care of both of those problems for me and has a very refreshing scent. Hope is bright enough to give a bold look yet subtle enough for everyday wear. Definitely want to try the other colors.

Lucky is really cute and girly. I have that one... but I dont thing this product is for me because it barely stays on for me. If you are dying to get it and dont want to pay this sort of money, just get the Revlon Jumbo Lip Crayon at any drugstore. Its much more pigmented and stays on longer and it also smells and feels kinda minty. (:
